Not surprised at all from STG. I visited the "shop/garage" once passing through on the way back to Phoenix and most items were priced high. Nice guys that I talked to though.

Ditto. Although someday I think I want at least one railed 1911. But it won't be a real pricey one.

It's not a bad price honestly. New Pro's are around $2700-2800, so beating the wait makes it balance out for some. Now, if it was an old used model for $3K...:whistling: Makes me consider getting mine refinished and posting it :tempted:.

The last railed model I saw came with a fully-ramped barrel...wonder why :dunno:

i know he says it's new, but is there some wear in the black T on the barrel hood ?

  11. I agree with Lawdog. The only railed model I like the looks of. (But not for 3200.00)

Factory test firing, some window lickers possible racking the slide a few times, along with how soft Black-T is would make sense.

    I hear you, Joe.

I just never think I could buy one. :dunno:

If I had a need for one, it would be different.

I own a Springfield Professional. I've owned several full customs and several semi-customs. The Pro really is worth 3K in my opinion both for quality and function. I only have one pistol I like better. Apply the analogy of Randall Knives, the "wait" from the day of order until delivery is quite long. A portion of the price of used Randal's is an offset for not having to wait 5 years. I've read on other boards of people waiting approx. 24 months to get a Pro. They are worth the wait though. A $200-$400 premium for a two year wait is not unreasonable. Also if not abused a few hundred rounds down the tube is "break in" rounds you don't have to pay for.
