Totally fascinating speech by Doug Casey -- economist, investor, entrepreneur, etc. etc. etc. that goes from political philosophy to economic predictions, to "where to escape to."

He's not a great speaker, and that takes a minute to get used to, but interesting overall. Hearing someone talk about buying property in Argentina was pretty surprising, after having read some of FerFals stuff.

    What's he selling?

Foreign real estate? Gold? A new book?
Or just making libertarians feel good?

Don't vote, it can't be fixed, and even if it could it would just start over again. So get yourself and your money out of the U.S.

I don't think that is supposed to make anyone feel good.

Yes, the Argentina part is quite interesting. Basically, if I understand him correctly, he's advocating buying property out beyond the reach of the government in the "warlord area" of Argentina. Here is a link to where he actually lives. Apparently, it is vastly more civilized than the government-dominated areas of Argentina, and in fact more civilized than living under the thumb of the vast majority of western governments (including the US). Sort of a Galt's Gulch sort of thing. At least, that's what he seems to be suggesting.
