Ok, I wanted to test the “general” accuracy of my EMP and common ammo that I use, as well as my first batch of reloads. Now, before I start this, please note that I was shooting with my forearms rested on a bench, with my hands in the air. It was almost freehand, so ignore the couple of fliers. Like I said, this wasn’t a ransom rest, and doesn’t truly represent the accuracy of the gun or the ammo used.

I really just wanted to test my first reloads and see how well/poor they did and I decided to take the other ammo I use along and do this little test.

Everything was shot from 7 yards, 5-round group on the little NRA 50ft slow fire pistol targets. My EMP is sighted in for 15 yards, and don't judge my poor shooting. I was at Taget World and was trying to get this done ASAP to get the heck out...I hate that place with a passion!

    Ammo used was:

    Winchester White Box 115gr, COAL = 1.157”
    Remington 115gr, COAL = 1.099”
    PRVI PPU 115gr, COAL = 1.156”
    4.0gr Win 231 Precision Delta 124gr, COAL = 1.158”
    4.3gr Win 231 Precision Delta 124gr, COAL = 1.160”

    WWB 115gr:

    Remington 115gr:

    PRVI PPU 115gr:

    4.0gr Win 231 124gr:

    4.3gr Win 231 124gr:

Most to least accurate in THIS test:

    Remington 115gr - 0.923”
    WWB 115gr - 1.704”
    4.3gr 124gr - 2.035”
    4.0gr 124gr - 2.214”
    PRVI PPU 115gr - 2.873”

I threw out the flier if there was one.

    Remington 115gr - None
    WWB 115gr - None
    4.3gr 124gr - Failure to lock back 2 magazines
4.0gr 124gr - Failure to Eject (every round), failure to lock back magazines (all)
    PRVI PPU 115gr - None

    Most to least felt recoil:

    Total round count:

    Remington - ~300
    WWB - ~500
    PRVI PPU - ~1,000
    4.3gr - 50
    4.0gr - 10

As a little closer, I’m offer some advice based off of my own experiences. I’ve shot about 1k rounds of PRVI PPU and in my experience, it’s fairly dirty ammo, but it’s cheap. It works, but it leaves yellow “balls” of debrief in my gun, and I don’t like that. I’ve shot the Remington at the range and it’s great range ammo, clean and no problems. The WWB is probably the best ammo I’ve used thus far, it’s clean and accurate, and I’ve had zero issues with any of the ammo, and it was the second cheapest (PPU was cheaper). I used WWB in my first (and so far only) USPSA match. I was pleased with the ammo and it’s reliability. My reloads need some work but the Win 231 powder seems to be fairly clean from what I can tell, and with a lighter load the recoil is reduced quite a bit from the others.

So it would seem the EMP likes the Remington.
I wonder if it's the short COAL or the higher pressure from the projectile being seated further in the case?

I'm not sure, but I'm going to load more of the 4.3gr loads and load them a little shorter.
