So Saturday I'm picking up my Gen 3 Glock 23 from my local gun shop. It's been on layaway for 2 weeks and I just NOW thought to ask about ammo. My husband had a glock 23 once, and the extent of my knowledge concerning his ammo was that he used hollow points. I'm only now learning that there's so much more to ammo than that, such as grain (I have no idea what this means). I'm sure there's a lot more to ammo than that, even. So people who have owned a Glock 23 (or another .40 glock) personally, what would you recommend for home defense and carry (mostly home, since I don't have a CCW permit, and the extent of my carry abilities will be keeping it in my vehicle)?? What's your preferred brand and type, and why? I know you're thinking "why don't I just ask my husband." I would, but I can't contact him as he's in BCT and unreachable. Chances are I won't get to talk to him before Saturday when I pick up my pistol. Also if anyone can redirect me to a helpful resource explaining into more detail types of ammo, it would be much appreciated.
