I sold a 2012 V-6 Ford Mustang to a young (17) man the other day. It is his first car his and father co-signed for him.

We went outside so I could deliver the car to him and he was so happy he was almost jumping up and down. I gave him the keys and he climbed in the car. I was wondering what was taking him so long to start it when I noticed he had his hands folded together and was giving thanks.

I'm not sure if I should be offended or not. I mean, I think I might have felt uncomfortable.

It's probably OK though since he's a Sikh and not a Christian.

    Carry on.

    Regards,
    Happyguy :)

Emotional damages. No one should be allowed to make you feel uncomfortable in public.

If he is 17 years old, I hope you sold it to his parent or guardian since a minor can not enter into a lawful contract. And you could be liable if he crashes it into somebody.

So, you never bought anything with your own money until after you were 17? Not a hamburger, soda or anything at all?

(the OP already mentioned that dad cosigned for him).

I just hope dada was the primary purchaser. If the minor was, he will be legally able to abandon the deal at anytime and get a full refund.

Sounds like more an issue for the bank as the only written contract would be their note/lien on the car. From the OPs point of view it was just a purchase. I think you are being a bit to literal with you interpretation here. No court is going to reverse that sale once it has been established the minor's parent was there and endorsed the transaction.

Nowhere in the OP does it say any bank was involved. It just says he sold him the car.

... from the bank. Why would the seller care? If the seller does not have a loan on the car, there doesn't need to be any contract at all between buyer and seller. Buyer gets money/bank check, meet seller at a notary, and exchange money for title and car. The "deal" can be done in less then 5 minutes. If the seller has a loan on the car, it is obviously more complicated.

And nowhere does it say the buyer is making payments to the seller.

In the interests of accuracy I have a confession to make.

I was in a hurry when I made my original post and played a little loose with the facts in an effort to hit the ground running in the A.M.

The true facts were the father purchased the car and the son is making the payments. The father and son are on the title but only the father is on the loan.

Sorry for the editorial license. You guys are living up to your reputation as a tough audience. :wavey:

Just brought my wife a 2012 V6 mustang today grabber blue. Thing is strong I'll find out next weekend but I bet it runs faster than my 01 GT did and I think it will come close to what my 01 Cobra vert did. To the people offended you need to drive one of the 3.7 it's a impressive car for the money.

I'd like to see Ford put the V-6 Ecoboost in them. 385 bhp would give the GT's a run for their money.

It is a $900 option (I might be off a little)in the F150 over the 5.0 V8 I think that would be a hard sale in a Mustang over the popular 5.0.
