I bought a Colt a couple days ago..........again. This particular gun was mine before, but I traded it off to a friend in a moment of weakness. He knows I have a soft spot for old Winchesters, so he dangled a Spruce Gun under my nose and I bit. He threw in a NIB XDM to seal the deal, since he really wanted the Colt back (he owned it first, loooong story). It was a sound trade money wise for me, but I regretted letting it go the minute I handed it to him. I've been tormented for almost a year now by the Colt being in someone elses safe, so I finally broke down and got it back. I traded off a pile of silver coins, and I lost some money, but I just don't care. The Colt is home, this time for good! Am I crazy or what? I've regretted selling things before, but this was just ridiculous! Anybody else ever been there?

Na I wouldn't say crazy at all that's why I hesitate to ditch my Glock for another 1911. I love to have another 1911 but the Glock is the first gun I ever got my self. I know if I sold it I kick my self ever for it.

You might be in your right mind now, but you were definitely having a lapse of sound judgement when you traded that beauty off. Don't change the 'scrip, it's working:whistling:.

I know it was only a partial trade, but an XDm for an old Colt 1911??

    Wrongness!!:tongueout:

I don't think that's crazy. If I owned a 1911 like that, it would be passed down to the kids when I check out.

In all fairness, the Winchester is a very neat gun, and one of only 1800 or so ever built. I kept the XDM for a day, sold it to a family member the next. I do believe the Colt is my favorite gun overall. It's going to go to one of my kids someday.

I spent my rainy day fund to get it back, so I don't think it's going anywhere any time soon. Just something about those original Government model Colts. You can't compete in the coolness category with a new pistol IMO.

I suppose your right. What I should have asked is, do the rest of you crazies think I'm completely stupid for buying this back? I must admit I kinda fell into a depressed slump after trading off the Colt, so I sold my P38, Browning 1910/22 and Radom Vis along with a real nice Winchester pump 22. I went as far as advertising my Garand as well before I came to my senses and put it back into the safe. I finally had to just bite the bullet and buy back the Colt. My wife was so sick and tired of my wining that she was relieved when I did it!
