I'm thinking of selling my G19 for a Kahr CM9. Is this a bad idea? I hardly shoot it, but love having it. I already own a G26 and G17. I was wanting something a little slimmer. Ohh and just out right buying the Kahr is out of the question. I need to sell to buy, kinda strapped for cash. So what y'all think?

I would keep the G19. But if you want something thiner you need
To check out the S&W M&P Shield. I shot one today a freind of mine
Just got. I really liked how it felt in my hand. I'm thinking hard about
    Adding one to the family.

Go for it. You already have the fullsize and sub compact. Why not?

Go for it ive had a PM9 and sold it..it the third round would nosedive and jam like every 2nd~4th mag..other than that it shot great.. but now I want another one cuz I pocket carry my g26 and honestly im getting a little tired of the weight..so ive really been looking at the CM9 hard. the only thing is the reliability issue of the kahr vs glock you know. With the glock reliability its really good..with the kahr its kind of a hit or miss~ I have a g19 and a g26 but no g17...i really like the size of the g19 vs a g17 but I guess u have your reasons for not selling the g17 for the CM9.. thats just me I like the g19 over the g17..

I'm against selling guns, but dumping the bastard 19 seems a good idea for your situation.

Picking up the CM9 is a good choice. I would also consider a Ruger LCP, to get even smaller and lighter. Also consider a small revolver, such as the S&W 642. It prints much less than a 26, and is ultra reliable :)

I have a 26, PM9, 642, and LCP. Doesn't matter which small gun you get, I'm just pointing out those additional options. I also have and love a 17 :)

    If you already have a 17 and a 26. I would move on if you want something slim. I sold a 19 I wasn't using for a Walther PPS 40. I still have a 23, 17 and 36.

Another G19 seller and G26/G17 keeper here...

    Go for it!

Although I will second the notion to check out the S&W Shield - one sweet trigger!!!

I would also recommend the M&P Shield or the Walther PPS over the CM9. I have not been impressed with the construction of the CM9.

Don't sell the G19, you WILL regret it. Want something slimmer? Get a knife. I'm serious.

I have only a 17 & 27, but have been thinking something "compact" would be next, but probably NOT in 9mm. Maybe a G38.:whistling:

OTOH G19 is a classic. I think you might be sorry if you sell it.

I've owned a Kahr CW45 and I sold it and my LC9 to buy my G36. Although the Kahr trigger is smooth, it just doesn't feel right to me. way to long for one thing. Fist time to the range with my G21sf and I was in love with the way the glock feels and shoots. After that I can tell you i'll never own another Kahr again. Of course, as always, this is just my humble opinion.

    I've got a 19, a 26, and I just picked up a Kahr CM9 a few weeks ago.

The construction and finish of the CM9 is top notch. The trigger is absolutely smooth. It's not like the Glocks, more like the longer smooth pull of a double action revolver. The CM9 had a very crisp break at the end. Great trigger!

Kahr recommends 200 rounds to break in the CM9, I did that but had not one malfunction. Very smooth running pistol.

It is considerably thinner and smaller than the Glock 26. I love all three pistols and would not think about selling any of them.

Go check out the Kahr.........great pistol and I've read on many different forums, Kahr has excellent customer service should you need it.

Go for it, I've got a 19 and a 26 and I'm trying to sell my 19 just cause I need cash and the two guns are so similar in size. I prefer to carry the 26. I have a kahr p380 and I love it. I carry it when it gets really hot. Kahr makes good stuff

Dido on the Kahr, I think they have mag issues. I bought my wife a CW9 and the first round would jam until you tapped the back of the slide with your hand. Other than the long trigger pull it was a pretty good weapon. I would check out the S & W Shield. It has gotten good reviews so far - at least the ones that I have read.

I had a CM9 for short while. I would rather have spent the money on a G26 instead.

I'm not a huge Glock fan, but I do like the G19 quite a bit.

    I wouldn't do it.

definitely a bad idea!kahr has hit or miss reliability issues and if you ever want to sell either of them the glock will hold its value way better.

I wouldn't carry a Kahr if it was free.
