Well, I took a bunch of my handguns out this weekend (see sig line for models)... I was VERY surprised at the outcome. A buddy of mine has a stock G22 that I shot as well... I knew that I hated .40, and remembered why very quickly.

All of my glocks are identical... night sights, 3.5# connectors, smooth triggers if they do not come with one, and grip plugs... nothing major.

I suck with the Berettas... no excuses at all.

I shot the G19 best of all! WHAT???

From 21 feet, I shot double taps, two shots within 1 second with a couple of seconds between strings at a standard 12" diameter ring target... I kept 90% of the rounds within 6" of center, the other 10% was all over the place!

    in order it was:

    1. G19
    2. G17
    3. G21
    4. Beretta M9 / 92F
    5. G26
    6. G22

So... you 9mm guys have got me... I will have to pull my G19 rig out of my bug out bag, and start carrying it as my EDC, and leave the G21 in the nightstand.

I really hate to ditch my favorite (G21), but the saying that "a 9mm in the 10 ring is better than a .45 in the 8 ring" comes to mind after this range test.

I was more surprised that I shot better with the 19 than the 17... so I loaded up some range ammo (WWB) and fired several mags out of both, and whether or not I shot slow singles, or fast triples, the groups from the 19 were better.

G19... the do-all, go anywhere king of Glocks...

I predict that the 34 would have pushed all of the others way, way down.

I've never shot my G19 against any of the others but I have always been quite satisfied with my fast shooting results.

Thanks for the advice... I took another chance, and got one of my G17s, and my carry 19, and a friend's 34 and did some testing. Friend does competition shooting and has a shot timer and knows his stuff... my grip needs some work, but I can get the job done.

G34 was bone stock other than adjustable 3-dot night sights, all of my glocks are stock other than 3-dot NS and grip plugs. Even with the lighter trigger, I did not do better with the G34.

I shot at 2 b27 targets about 5 feet apart from each other at a shooting distance of 25 feet. draw, double tap the first target, and then double tap the second target. 3 times per gun with carry ammo. average total time was under 5 seconds... best was just under 4 seconds.

Fastest time was with the 19, best group was with the 19... I know that the shorter OAL makes it "swing" better between targets (if that makes sense), but it must be something about not having any "extra grip" hanging below my hand that makes me hit like a laser with that 19.

I learned that on a good day, I can draw from concealment, and fire 4 shots at two attackers in under 4 seconds with my G19 and 147gr. HST... I'll stick with that.

If I ever was serious about competition, I would really look at the G34 and learn how to use it well, it is a nice shooter, but not much of a CCW gun IMO.

    Thanks again for the suggestion.

    Your experience sounds familiar.

I switched to the Glock 19 just a few months after they first they came out, and I haven't looked back. Before the G19, I was a hardcore 1911 shooter, but sometimes carried a SIG P220 or P226.

After tens of thousands of rounds through several G19s, it is still my favorite handgun of all time. I simply perform better with a 19 than any other handgun I've run across. They are reliable, inexpensive, simple to maintain, and darn near indestructible. Great weapon.

    I had at one time a 17-L, 34, 17, 19, & 26.
With the same ammo, I would shoot the 19 best of all of them.
Now I am down to just a 17, and want another 19.
If the right person comes along I'll trade for a 19.

I guess I'm lucky cause I find shooting any 9mm Glock to be a joy. For me it's the G17 that I find best as far as fit and accuracy. Lately though I've been shooting my G17L and enjoying the heck out of it. To date my first Glock a G17 2nd Gen is still my favorite to shoot and compete with in IDPA.

However, which one gets carried most of the time? My 3rd Gen G26 which I have also found to be a great shooter, comfortable to carry as well as comforting knowing she's always there.

I just love Glock 9mm's!:hearts: Yes I admit, I may be a little queer for my Glock 9mm's but so be it! I have to be myself:whistling:
