Ak 12

Discussion in 'General Firearms Forum' started by Trigger Finger, Feb 16, 2012.

  1. Not being a member of the Kalashnikov Klub (sp) I decided to post this here. Mods feel free to move it.

I just heard of this and found it very interesting!
The new AK 12 will replace the AK 74 and AK 47. Basically, as I understand it, the AK 74 has replaced the AK 47 as of several years ago. The new AK 12 will replace the AK 74 and is the newest evolution of the Kalashnikov design. I thought the AN 94 was going to become Russia's main battle rifle but apparently this is reserved for Spetsnaz Troops due, I think to production costs.

The AK 12 looks good and seems to be a very good main battle rifle. Available in four calibers and different modes of fire. I can't wait wait for this to come onto the civilian market, however I might be waiting some time.
