I wonder how cheaply some of the passengers bought their tickets for, lol.

I would try to loan $$$ asap in return for tickets. You bet. I have been on flights that are overbooked. Normally I am in hurry. Also some folks "give in" way to early.
One I recall they needed two folks to give up seat/take flight next am. Only offered $50 and folks took it. Even if you live 10 miles from airport you have to get your car back from (long term?) so $7 min more likely $15, haul your stuff home, back, go thru security...... For $50???

I would have footed the whole bill for the fill up.

But I would need the title to the plane for colateral

Why didn't France just surrender to Syria, in exchance for some Jet-A?

I think Syria is on the short list of countries they haven't surrendered to yet.:rofl::rofl:

They probably keep the title in the glovebox.

I'd pony-up whatever cash I had on hand to get out of the middle east. Sadly, those passengers were headed towards Beirut.

    Hilarious comment:

"I believe that since the French were aware that there was a war going on in Syria, they figured that they might as well just drop in and surrender.:
