I have basically settled on buying another Aimpoint for my 2nd M4. I have an Aimpoint Pro on my Daniel Defense LW M4. My other AR is a S&W M4 with no optic at the moment. I have 2 options if I stay with Aimpoint. 1. Put an Aimpoint Micro T1 on my DD for 650 with a Larue QD mount included that will really go well with the lightweight DD rifle, and put my Pro on my S&W. 2. Buy another Pro for 360 mount included, and have Pro's on both my M4's. Kinda boring but practical. I love Aimpoints, and saved up to buy the DD M4 as my dream rifle. The T-1 is my dream sight to go on the rifle, but is it worth 300 more dollars which is near double the price of another PRO. I have the money right now to do either but buying the T1 would wipe my gun account out for awhile but would have a super LW setup on a LW carbine. Tough call! Opinions please.

Pro, 500 rounds of Tula, and some instruction.

  3. I had a similar dilemma a few months ago. I've been using Eotechs and wanted to go with a simple red dot. I looked hard at the Pro and it's a great optic for a great price. I always wanted a one of the micro's but they were pretty pricey. I came across a great deal on a used H1 which would be about the same price as a new Pro so I went with the H1. I had to spend some extra $$ on a LaRue mount but I don't regret it. It's light, small and the battery life is insane. I say take a chance on the micro since you already have a Pro.

I had an M2 (30mm like the PRO) and sold it after I got my T-1. The less bulk and longer battery life of the T-1 made it the more attractive choice between the two.

Can't go wrong either way. A planned upgrade for me is replacing my M2 with a T-1, but I want to borrow one to run on my SBR a bit to make sure I can live with the "looking through a doughnut hole" view on the T-1. I get the feeling it will be mounted much closer to the rear sight than my M2 is.

May I ask where you found the Pro for 360 mount included?

Palmetto and a couple other places had it for sale around $360-370 around Labor Day.

Midwayusa. Get a coupon code for $30 or $40 off $300. They charge $400 normally no tax and free shipping. So either $360 or $370 shipped to your door.

It's really hard to beat the Pro, I am really liking mine and the included mount is a outstanding design.

I would try a T1/H1 before you buy and make sure looking through the little hole works for you. Personally I like the 30mm tubes of the bigger Aimpoints.

“Boring but practical” works for me.

I love the smaller tube on the Micro T-1. I just don't know if its worth 300 more than another Pro. 2 Pros would be practical but a little boring having 2 near carbon copy rifles. What should I do guys?

Need a few more opinions bud. I also just found a CompM4s for 650 with the factory mount. So I will throw it with the Pro and T1. Thoughts now guys?

The M4 has great battery life, but it's HEAVY.

The very first response was probably right on target?

Aimpoint Pro is it. You're gonna have to burn a lot of batteries to justify an extra $300.00 in my book.

It sounds like you want the T-1 regardless, so just buy it.
