I'm getting ready to get a STI Trojan and will be my BBQ/range gun, so I'm divided about getting it with adjustable sights or fixed. What would be best if this was to be my only 1911?

as your only 1911 I'd go adjustable- you can adjust the sights to different loads and ranges- if all you are going to do is shoot idpa or combat style stuff inside 25 yards then fixed would be fine. if you decide to use it for any precision shooting like conventional nra bullseye -one handed slow fire at 50 yards- the adjustables will be handy

I would go with fixed sights, there's nothing to go wrong with 'em.

STI will do a Trojan with fixed sights if you order it. Brazos Custom is a good source.

If it's a range gun then the adjustables make sense.
If it's a carry gun then they are not necessary.

I find myself having to have Adjustables on a gun.
I like to be able to dial the gun in on target.

The two guns I have with Novaks never get shot.

STI definately offers fixed sights as an option when ordering a new gun.

I think there are better things for shooting beyond 25 yards than pistols, so fixed sights do fine for me.

I like the adjustable sights on the Trojan.

Mine has red fiber optics up front. They give an outstanding sight picture.
