I was doing cable crunches on my knees facing the rope then pulling down to my knees rounding my back. Today I tried it facing away from the cable so that the cable was to my back and my hands to my ears holding the cable. Is there any difference in how these two ways work the abbs. I have looked and cannot find any reference to cable crunches being done this way. All I have found is in arnolds ency. of mod. bodybuilding. thanks

I prefer to do them with my head facing the rope. I feel that if I do it the other way, I use my back more. Facing the rope seems to isolate my abs more.
