9mm S&W Bodyguard?????

    OK since Glock refuses to make a single-stack 9mm, I was wondering if anyone has heard any rumors on S&W making a 9mm Bodyguard???

    The BG is a well made gun. I like mine, but but the crazy-long DAO trigger pulls on all of the single stack 9s keep me from wanting one. I will deal with that in a .380 BUG...but not in a primary carry piece.

    We need a Ruger LC9 with a PPQ trigger and no manual safety.

    The used to make a 9mm J-frame. I think it was the Centential style and not the BG one though.

    I thought there was something about someone doing either a conversion, or converting the cylinder to accept moon clips for .38/.357 like their larger .45 acp wheel gun does, and their old 9mm J frame did? I could be wrong on this, but I know the DID make a 9mm J frame at one point.

    oh................. THAT kind of S&W "Bodyguard".

    Try either Kahr or Kel Tec for that then.

    Yes they did! I passed up the oppurtunity to buy one a few years ago.

    I believe the OP was talking about the .380 ACP that SW released a couple of years ago.

    I'm sorry I should have clarified, I was talking about a single-stack 9mm in the .380 BG platform. I do like the Kahrs and Rugers but I like the BG platform better. I have the .380 and it performs well and is my pocket gun quite often when I don't feel like strapping on the G26/19 or 31.

    See, and people in the other thread were posting "there is no need for such a thing, we have the 26 and 19".

    I asked them about it on their Facebook page during SHOT and they blew the idea off as "rumors and speculation." I'd think they would have to be working on one, though: it's really only Glock that is completely ignoring this market segment.

    Someone over on Defensive Carry said that S&W told them at SHOT that they have something new coming out in the M&P pistol line later this year and that there'll be a big announcement then.

    I too thought this was about the J frame configuration of partially shrouded hammer.

    I hate that they use "bodyguard" for those .380 semi-autos.

    Good movie, good singer, too much drugs I guess.

    Has there been any speculation on what this is? The M&P Compacts are already fairly small. I guess an even smaller single-stack version might be possible but a .380 is more likely, IMO.

    I'd guess compact 9mm, the M&P Compacts are in the G19 range so a slim 9 would be a good addition to the lineup. I'd buy one, I'm not super enthusiastic about anything that's out there now.
