what differences is there between a 870 express tactical 81198 vs 870 spec opps tac2 81400 besides the Knoxx stock.. would i save money by getting the 870 express and then buying a Knoxx stock and put it on myself.. or is the 81400 built better.. any information greatly appreciated..

also lookin for good dealers in western NC/Asheville area..

I have the 81198 and it's a tank, looking at the differences I believe they are the same with the exception of the Knoxx stock on the 81198 and the 81400 doesn't look like it comes with the breecher choke.

    Heres my 81198

Those 870 Tactical are nice, Cabela's here in Phoenix had them for 360 on sale. I've seen them go for as High as 500 bucks. That door breacher is just a screw in choke. Not really a true standoff. I like the finish on that model, low maintence.

I understand that that's a screw in choke on the tactical 870 but what's the difference between that flash hidertype end and the real thing?

The "tactical" choke performs the same choke function as a Rem Choke & can be replaced by any of the other Rem Chokes.
It offers a little bit of muzzle brake function.
It is not a breacher, as noted.
    Mostly there for looks.

Very nice! (in my Borat voice)

I've added a side saddle and a set of trac-lok GR sights since that picture.

Avoid that model as the the finish is a real mistake. Once scratched it will peel right off. Also the Remington tactical choke does nothing but add length to the weapon. It is a cyl bore choke and I call the the Rem Joke. You care paying for that junk and will not want it on the weapon. These are all the e xact same weapon but with different finishes and some have tacti-fool mess on them.

Avoid the mess. You will be better served with the 25077 model.
