    Hello everyone,

I am wondering if this is possible to do. If I were to buy a S&W revolver chambered in .45 Colt, could I have that revolver altered so that it would/could fire .45 ACP? Thank you, in advance, for your replies.

If this is possible, it would be great. I once had a model 625 in .45 ACP with a 5" barrel and I got into a bad spot and I was forced to sell it and now the only 625's that S&W make are ones with a 4" barrel. It doesn't look as good to me and it doesn't feel right either. I want a 5 inch or longer barrel. Smith is making a blued .45 Colt with a 6.5" barrel and I really like the looks of that one. Thank you.

I don't see why you couldn't have Smith's Performance Center or someone else make another cylinder for you... Ruger does it with their conversion.

Just a matter of cost. Good luck.

    Contact them here.

Smith used to sell one with both cyliners. Call their custom shop.
