Looking for .45 acp for my carry gun. Looking for hollow points, 50 round boxes, around $30 a box. Do these exist or they all 20 & 25 round boxes?

50 round boxes of LE grade ammo are more plentiful today than they have been in three years.

Personally I'd go with a good 200gr HP for carry use. It'll help to cut down on the recoil a bit over the 230gr while still having a bit more punch then the lighter 185gr. JMHO, YMMV.

Cheaper Than Dirt had Winchester Ranger-T 230 gr for less than $30.00 for a box of 50 a little while back...may still. They also had Federal Classic 230 gr. JHP pretty cheap too. I bought several boxes of each. That's the lowest prices I've found for premium .45 ACP ammo lately.

The RAnger-T is a good round in 50ct. The Fiocchi 200gr XTP load is a sleeper load too. It's my choice for my ltwt 1911Comm.

  6. My G30 had problems with the Rangers, so I carry Speer Gold Dot 230gr.

I know CTD has some, was looking last night. Haven't seen any local in years, but online it's still around.
