    Mas,
    I think I know the answer, but-shooting a 38+P+
    rnd out of a SW 38+P J frame will destroy/damage this gun.
    I may have a chance to get a few boxes, but I do not want to damage my 642. Thank you

    S&W says no. +P yes, for today's strong J-frame Airweights like your 642, but +P+ is not in the cards for it. About 30 years ago, I beat a sweet little '70s-vintage Model 38 Bodyguard Airweight into uselessness with a mere 200 rounds of 110 grain +P+. Stretched the frame enough the firing pin could no longer hit the primers hard enough to achieve ignition. A masterful S&W armorer, Rick Devoid, brought it back from the dead by fixing the headspace, and if memory serves, he also had to turn the barrel back.
