Anybody know what 357 magnum round would be good for hogs out of a ruger GP-100 4in barrle. Thanx:thumbsup:

  2. How far a shot you planning to make?

I agree that a heavy solid HP round is tops.

  3. I would avoid the JSP imho not the best thing for them size animals that could get bigger and tuff'er as the hunt goes on. Great for deer by the way. I would als avoid any SD jacketed ammo either.

A good hardcast lead loading or as mention above a partition round would be my first picks. I'm doing some load testing using BTB bullets but out of a 357max and 14"'ncher bbl. Plan on doing some off season hunting and will be posting storys and photos.

Now granted the 357max has about 100-300fps on avg more than the 357magnum.
