    9MX,

Samsung........ Sony is buying LCD panels from Samsung for their product line. Get the series 8 or 6 and get their 40 or 42. I am sure you can afford this. I got a 32 and now wishing I have a 42 instead.

Sony BRAVIA series (latest model) still has best clarity maybe because of their "engine". But they really cost so much higher than Samsung.

    Hope this helps.

  3. LG 32" plasma for home entertainment.

LCD's just can't match the black level of plasmas.

Made the mistake of bringing along my teenage son when I shopped around for a 32-inch tv. Ended up with a 40-inch Samsung due to his artful manipulation. No regrets, though. Nothing beats a large screen.

i would still go for japan technologies when it comes to tv, sony is too expensive because of the name. toshiba and panasonic has competitive quality picture with sony and with a much cheaper price tag. i end up buying the toshiba 37", the size of your tv depends on the distance of your sitting position from the tv. having a bigger screen with a short viewing distance, the downside is you can see the pixelization and not the crisp and clarity of the picture. samsung is only great with their marketing and its physical appearance as to compare it with japan tech. just IMHO...

magkano eto at san? kahit na 110v, il just buy a stepdown transformer is the price is right!!! :) as said earlier, u can't beat plasma sa blacks nya :)

  12. It is said that plasmas have better clarity and black is real black unlike an LCD. However we are happy with our 42 LCD sharp. I dont see the difference if you have got high definition tv input.

no hidef signal yet for TV in the phil, hehe, so maximize performance of PLASMA/LCD with high quality DVDs not the pirated kinds esp yung mga 4 in 1s, etc. :)

Pioneer's Kuro plasma tv's have a very good review...

plasma tv's are good on sizes 42" and up, and best viewed in a dim-lighted palce. between palsma and lcd is a personal preference.

Sa akin Sony Bravia 32" ok naman happy ako sarap manood ng dvd's, tagal ko din pumili medyo mura kasi yung samsung kaya lang ever since sony gamit namin sa bahay kaya subok ko na sa tibay.

    9mx,

Can you tell us more about your considerations for choosing tv?

Will you just be watching cable/local channels? DVD? Bluray? Hidef downloads? Use it as pc monitor?

What's your viewing distance? You watch alone? With entire family? Big group?

Is your room dim? Brightly lit? Lots of windows with sunlight coming in?

Are you a casual viewer? Or you like to see maximum details in movies? Very deep blacks?

What about audio? TV speakers good enough? Or you will listen thru amplifiers/external speakers?

    Range of your budget?
