put a 100rds through my 30S today via the stock 10 rds mags and 9rd mags (i picked up at a local gun show) and she was flawless. no feed issues and very accurate even with a two finger grip...

Does the grip feel "fat" to you?

I sold my G30 because the grip sucked and the slide was way too wide for CCW....IMHO.

How would you compare the 30S to the 30 or even the 30SF?

Isn't the grip on the 30s exactly the same as the 30sf ?? That was my understanding. For decades I wanted a 45 GLOCK and never bought one because those original G30 and G21 grips were just too big. The SF models are great.

I have the gen 4 on the way. Ive done lots of research. The 30s has the same grip as the sf or gen 4 and it has the 36 slide. I hear its great. Only thing is it has a little more recoil than the other 30's. They say its no big deal tho. Nothing to worry about.

By the way. Im super pumped about my G30 gen 4. Any day now.
  9. From what I understand, it is the same grip. I have the 30SF, and the grip fits my hand great, and I don't have very large hands.
I got on a list at my Blue Label dealer for a 21 and waited... While waiting, I went by another "regular" Glock dealer just to check out a 21. The only 21 he had was a Gen 3 21C, and when I held it, it did seem surprisingly big, but afterall, I did want a "service size" .45, so it wasn't an issue.
Once I got the call that my dealer had gotten in the LE Gen 4 21's, I went over to put some cash down on it and to check it out. It seemed to be an entirely different pistol from the Gen 3 21C at the other dealer, and I was pleasantly pleased. Actually, while I was checking it out, another employee walked by, and was surprised with the changes Glock made to the Gen 4, and actually made the comment... "wow... it looks more... professional"... Not sure exactly what he meant, and I've not been around Glock long enough to appreciate all the changes made throughout the generations, but I can't wait to get it home and put some rounds through it... Anyway, the Gen 4 definately seemed to fit my hand better than the Gen 3 21C.
I am considering making my next purchase the 36, just to round out the .45 collection, lol. I guess in that case, I could Frankenstein the 36 and 30SF if I felt I could benefit from it...
Just have to get my wife to buy off on that purchase... I'm thinking that the 36 would be the perfect pistol for "her"..

i love the 36 which was my first glock / first love. but i quickly became a fan of the dbl stack mag after purchasing my 19. after purchasing my 21 i realized that the thicker grip is not an issue for my hand or carry.

30s and 30sf is the same frame.

i dont have a 30 but i do have a 21 and the grips thickness are the same. i'm more conformable with the 21 over the 30s w/ a 9rd mag because i can get three fingers on the grip.

my first glock was the 36 because it was all about the grip due to my short / small hands. but after puchasing my 21, i quickly realized the thicker grip from the 21 fits my hands just fine.

in fact of all my glocks i'm as accuate with my 21 as my 19. check out my avatar - thats 13rds from my 21 at 36'. there are 4 rds in the eye area.

as far as the 30S being snapper because of the slide weight - it's not a noticable difference for me. the difference for me is three fingers vs two on the grip. i'm slowly getting comformable with a two finger grip for the 30S w/ 9rd mag.

    congrats - i can't find a 30 g4. i wanted a 30 G4, but jumped on the 30S when a found it back in mid Jan.

The 30 G4 will be my next purchase for sure.
  12. it seems to me that those coming from a G36 to the G30S have no issues with the recoil and those coming from the G30/G30SF/G30 Gen4 think the G30S might be a bit snappier than a G30/G30SF/G30 Gen4...

I would have liked to try the G30S and a G30 Gen4 back to back but couldn't locate a G30S before I made my purchase of the G30 Gen4...

I'm very happy with my purchase but will always wonder...but then that's always a reason to buy yet another gun...;)
