    What year did they start to manufacture 3" shot shells and shotguns, I know when I was a kid I had a 3" Rem 870 Magnum that was from the 50,s and used to find some 3" paper shot shells, and they worked very good,

    Then when was it when the 3.5" came out, mid 80,s?

    The 3" 12 gauge came out in the early 50s, the 3.5" in 1989 or 90 I believe.
