Are the scanners in the 3 in 1 printers any good, or should I go with a separate printer and scanner? I was looking at the HP 1510.

I'm not looking for heavy duty use, but would like some decent scans.

I have an HP 6110 multifuntion. It scans, prints, copies, and faxes. I have had no complaints. It scans and prints great for home use.

Usually the flatbed stand-alones and the 3-in-one scanners have similar resolutions and IQ.

I haven't seen any that merit giving folks a shoddy-merchandise warning, at least.

Speaking from experience get a HP. They cost a little more but are worth it.

I decided on the HP 1610. It's 10% off, at $116.00, Plus Office max has a special promotion offering a $10.00 gift card, and a $15.00 in store credit discount, so it's a pretty inexpensive deal...
