If it ain't broke, why fix it? You can have your 3rd & 4th generations. I see no reason to change. Love my 2nd generation G19!!!!

You don't have to fix it, but a free internal parts refresh doesn't hurt (there's the shipping of course).

Sent my gen2 G19 to Smyrna earlier this year and came back feeling even better... which i thought wasn't even possible lol.

I love mine and wouldn't recommend a parts upgrade unless you have a failure.

With all the issues you don't know if the gun will shoot differently when you get it back. My Gen 2 is not going near Smyrna.

I didn't want to thread jack. I was in my CHL class and we were working on rapid fire and weak hand shooting when I pulled my 19 out. I had been using my 17RTF2, but wanted to get some time in on my 19 since I hadn't shot it yet. 10 rounds as fast as I could at 15 feet and I was making small groups. Did this 4 times, never a failure. Even weak hand I was keeping the groups within a few inches. Only thing I did after buying it used was take out the NY spring and installed a newer Glock 5.5 connector that I polished. All my other Glocks have the Glock "-" connector in them.

The only brass that was hitting me was from the guy in the next lane, his Ruger SR9c was tossing brass over the partition, bouncing off my hat and then onto the floor.

I did in fact send this 2nd gen G19 and Symnra a couple years back and they did replace all the internals. I also had night sights installed.

The above target was my very 1st 12 rounds and haven't shot in 2 months. The slide has a lot of slide wear, doesn't look great by the "gun safe king" standards... lol

But something about this pistol works GREAT for me!!!

My 2nd gen G19 was my first Glock. I purchased it when I turned 21 back in '94. I absolutely love that gun. I wouldn't trade it for a new 3rd or 4th gen, even if it was an even exchange.

    Nice shooting!
My third gen G27 has 5000+ rounds and has ran well.
But I have had a couple FTFs.
And twice got smacked in the forehead with hot brass drawing blood.

I'm starting to think looking for a pristine G23 gen 2 might be a fine idea...

Since you have two 19s, which do you prefer? Finger grooves or smooth?

Very nice shooting! Get the internal parts upgrade kit and keep it on the side. "better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it" ...

2nd Gens do rock! My G22 Gen2 was purchased used (police trade in). It was my first Glock and has been the one to turn me into a Glock nut. With the alleged problems I've heard about later gen Glocks, I'm going to hold on to this one forever.

Yep, love the 2nd Gens - have three of them. Have had six 3rd Gens (liked them) and two 4th Gens (really liked the smaller grip option, both of mine were 100% reliable and continue to be so for my friend who owns them now) in the past.

The no finger groove option is my favorite! Second choice for me would be the 4th Gen with the smaller grip option.

    To the OP, nice shooting.
