I am trying to find bulk .223 projectiles. I would like to find FMJ BT or BT HP bullets in BULK (5k-20K). I really don't care what weight, 55gr, 62gr, 68gr does not matter. I am trying to find them at a reasonable deal too. I really don't want to pay out the rear for these. I know there are a few locations that sell these at good prices, I am just not sure where.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I can get projectiles at a reasonable price?

  2. Widener's has Prvi Partisan stuff fairly reasonable.

Wideners also has Horandy MIL-SPEC stuff http://wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=278|281|727

    MB2255FB 5000 22CAL 55GR FMJBT M193 PROJECTILES $380.00 Pre-Paid USPS

I'm waiting to order these soon as they get some Ramshot TAC powder in the 8lb jugs in stock.

BTW anyone use those new Wolf Magnum SRP for 5.56 loads?

    Thanks BoxerGlocker

I think I am going to go with the mill-spec stuff from Wideners. That's a pretty good price.

    Your welcome...

Best I've seen for new M193 stuff... that price works out to $76 a K shipped.

The "airpulled" stuff is selling locally for that.... I give those guys a miss.

I get my bulk 55gr .223 FMJ BT w/cannalure pills from MidSouth. They are under the Hornady bulk bullet section. They run about $18/250. The make great plinkers. The BT helps get the little guys into the case mouth w/o distortion.

The Hornady 55s are the only 55 gn FMJ bullet I will shoot past 200 yards.

The Winchesters and "mil-spec" bullets suck for accuracy.

I can hold 1-1.5 MOA with the Hornadys to 500 or so. The Winchesters run maybe 2-3 MOA on a good day.

For Zombie ammo, the el-cheapo bullets are fine. But thats about it.

Thanks for the info Hozer good point to take note. That shouldn't be a problem in my case. We rarely have targets beyond 160 yards at our local TAC RIFLE matches, no magnified optics allowed, most of it is up close and personal. Minimum 50 rounds for a stage, so a mag change is mandatory (even in a drill stage). I'm loading up my first batch of .223 with Horandy VMAX 55g's this weekend.

Wideners lists the 5K M193s for $380 shipped deal under the Lake City bullets section. I've asked around and have not found anything conclusive, but the general word is that mil spec bullets that are sold to the public are military rejects. Can anyone definitively answer this one way or another?

MidSouth Shooters Supply has some good deals every once in a while. Always good prices compared to others especially brick stores who get theirs from MSS.

Follow the Wideners M193 link and they state... first quality new. I have no reason to doubt it as several guys I know locally have ordered through them.

I've loaded a couple thousand rounds with the Wolf Small Rifle Magnum primers, no issues.
