I had a lcd monitor for a while.

    It went dark and nothing.

I was able to return it and got another.

2 weeks it went dark and nothing.

It was new enough to return with no problems.

I hooked up the new one a Samsung.

It came on with the picture as soon as it was plugged in.

Any thoughts or is it just coincidence?

    Could be a power issue.

Are you using a quality surge suppressor? I'd recommend a nice TrippLite or APC model, one that runs in the ~$45 range.

    The 2 were Envision.

1 was about a year old

The "new" one was a display model.

The Samsung is new in the box.

After I posted I put the computer into stand by.

It did not want to come back up when I hit the keyboard.

The monitor however sas asking for a signal.???

I've had a few Envisions (17" lcd) monitors fail in the last few months. They had been in service for a while (1-2 yrs.)

Envision in on my "Avoid List"

BTW, CostCo took them all back :)
