So I'm thinking about getting a second 29SF, I already have a 21 so getting a 20 is just a slide away but I love the 29. I figure have one as a carry and one as a practice piece with a couple conversion barrels. Is this crazy?

Also throwing around the idea of having a 29 BUG to my 29... -that s**t cray.

Maybe try changing it up a bit, perhaps hunt for an OD G29, or patiently await a Gen 4 version perhaps?

Or maybe look into converting the 21 into a G20 Longslide! I would do that anyway if I was in the market for a G20 slide for a 21 frame.

I will eventually buy another G29. Likely an SF (since I have a regular G29) or maybe a Gen4. I would like to have two. I am still kicking myself, though. The day I bought my G29, there was an OD G29 about 20 miles north of me for $20 more. I went with the better deal because it was right before the ODs got discontinued. I bet OD G29s are the unicorns of the Glock lineup. Damn.

I would have thought this was a crazy idea, DeLo, but I was reading in another forum where someone does the same thing. He has a duplicate of his EDC gun (wasn't a G29 IIRC) that he uses as a range/practice gun, and then he runs about 500-1000rds through his same model EDC (for break-in and confidence in reliability) and leaves it at that. That way, he can practice with his range gun all he wants, and if anything ever wears out or breaks on that, it's OK, he just fixes it and moves on. But his EDC gun remains in top operating condition with only 500 rds through it and gets fired very little after that, so he doesn't have to worry about it ever wearing out or breaking down.

Makes good sense to me if you can afford to do it. Me personally, I'm too much of a gunslut to get tied down to multiple copies of the same model.

I agree with the gunsluting but when it comes to handguns, I'm almost 100% glocks, I have a couple rugers and a s&w 442 but those are only because glock doesnt have a 454, 44 or 38. I figured at some point I'd end up with two of the same Gs. Just got the twin yesterday.

Love my G20SF!! I can't wait to add the long slide to cover up the 6.02" extended barrel. This is by far my favorite caliber (handgun), and I can't wait to add a G29SF.

    Why a 2nd 29 SF?
If it's a favorite here are some reasons:
-A part could break which would put the pistol out of service until the replacement part arrived.
    - Okay, you are prepared with small parts, but the locking block breaks and you didn't have one of those.
-Someone steals it, now you don't have one.
-You defend yourself with it and it is taken as evidence until after trail.
    - Glock decides to discontinue the 10mm models and prices on remaining 10mm models jump like they did on the OD.
    -Good things come in pairs
    -Yours is lonely
    -Because you only live once
    -Because you can

I have two 1895G Marlins in 45/70, maybe I'm just into doubles.

  13. I could see having a second 29 OP. I'm that big a fan of mine. But I'm not sure about having a range gun and then an EDC gun. I'd want my EDC to be the actual one I worked out with. I'd want to KNOW it was 100% broken in and reliable. I'd want it worn and shiny, with scrapes that I got from doing drills on the ground. THATS the gun I'd carry and bet my life on. Having a newish, clean and barely broken in 29 riding on my belt doesn't sound too appealing.

But having one for my person and one for the truck would be cool. Or one on me and one issued to my backpacking buddy in the mountains. Maybe one in the front of the house and one in the back bedroom. Those are the good reasons I see for having duplicates. Stay safe man.

I have one 29. It does just fine on its own.
  15. These are my sentiments as well.

I consider the Glock 29 the best and most versatile shooting platform in the world. I have 2 already. These are OD and were never available in SF (Short Frame) from GLOCK.

I have big hands and had never thought about the SF models. Recently while building a Lonewolf Longslide (6 inch) for the FUN FACTOR..I came across a good deal on a G20/21 SF from Glockmeister. So heck, I ordered a SF from them. I like it. I'am feeding 4 Glock 20s as well. (counting the new Longslide). My opinion is the GLOCK 20 is the second best shooting platform in the world...hahaha..

Now I'am thinking about getting a black, Glock 29SF model for my collection.

Lately I've noticed a shortage of 10MM Glocks. Several friends can't find them without a backorder situation. The SHOT show is coming up next week; friends in the gun business will find out if Glock is announcing the GEN4 in G20/29 or not. If GLOCK is coming out with the GEN4 10MMs then I will attempt to get one of those; if not, I will go ahead and find a Gen3 G29SF for my collection.

Be well and stay safe and warm

I am new to the 10 mm platform but already I love my G20 sf. I will looking for a 29sf soon. I will use it as a concealed carry gun and use the 20 as open carry.
I am concealing the 20 for now but it is winter.

I got 2 29SFs for many of the reasons mentioned here. One was gonna be my EDC while the other is my practice 29, but instead its my safe queen and awaits it's day to replace my current 29.
