1990s California assault rifle ban

    For you poor unfortunates that are having to deal with Kalifornia guns laws...

    I can still find some information on the internet about California registering "assault" rifles and later banning them and demanding that the owners turn them in.

    There was a court battle and the California legislators passed a law that banned possession of a magazine fed centerfire rifle.

    What I haven't found is how this all turned out. Is it illegal to own an AR15 or AK type rifle that you bought in California before the state legislature banned them?
