    i personally would love the colt RG that the usmc just adopted. but ill probably by a Springfield GI or equivelent to it if i can find one next.

    Although the SA MC Operator and the Colt Rail Gun is sexy, the DW Specialist looks awesome with all the semi custom touches. If I had to look for a rail gun for duty it would be the ones I mentioned.

    My thoughts changed one nite about 8 months ago. Something went 'bump in the night' and while my pistol was where it should have been, my Surefire was not. I had been anti-weapon light til that moment.

    A $60 Caspian rail, a few minutes with the tig welder, a $120 TRL-1 as recommended here and ceracote of the frame later I no longer worry about where the light is.

    BTW- it fits just fine in the pre-rail holster.

    The rail sits too far back for my own use. I prefer the rail runs out to the muzzle so that I can mount a bayonet on the pistol.

    no rails for me on 1911s or Sigs, but I understand there is a need for them.
