1911 parts

Discussion in 'Band of Glockers' started by kobe24888, Feb 10, 2007.

  1. Where can we buy 1911 parts?

    Recommended gunshop.

Edbrown/Caspian/STI parts like sear, disconnector, sights, hammer, safety, etc.

    Kamagong Grips?

    Thanks in advance.

Congrats pre, you're going to the 1911 side. Ako kulang kulang pa lakas ng loob hehehe saka budget.

  3. I buy from Twin Pines and PB Dionisio.

    My gunsmith is Col. Bayang.

I use faux ivory and mother of pearl Ajax grips for my 1911's but in rare instances where I use them (1911's) for competition, I switch to the S&A grips which allows me to have a very secure gripping surface on these guns.

Ika nga guide me first to be convinced hehe, hindi convinced na ako SPECS na lang kailangan ko......converting converting to 1911.

of course not! after mo makuha yung unit, you can add/change whatever you like to the pistol.

pero usually all you need to change is the plain black front sights to fiber optic sights and add a magwell.

pero most of the time, cosmetic changes na lang kelangan mo kasi ok na ok na ang sti edge out of the box. minor tuning na lang if ever.

    get the .40 s&w edge

Cool kung 40 ang recommended, hindi na lalayo sa loads ko para sa G23 ko. Pero alam ko super mahal ang STI, ballpark figure lang muna.

  13. Charlie, pareho tayo. Kung Armscor 40 caliber, practical series? Ok kaya yon? Price? Out of the box accuracy?

ARMSCOR .40 caliber Hi-Cap Practical Series

Cal. 40 S&W, full size hi-capacity, 15+1 capacity, ramp type bull barrel, extended slide stop, double slide serration, blued finish

Does it solve our "problem" of using reload in our Glock23? Para hindi sayang ang basyo.

Pareho lang ba gaya ng .45 caliber na halos mabiyak na ang brass sa kare-reload? :laughabove:

How many times can you use your brass sa 40 caliber Armscor?

    kasi ganito yun:

pag armscor or sam or ranger ang gamitin mo as your base pistol, malaki nga kamurahan nito compared to sti, sps, paraord or svi.

kaso madami ka kailangan palitan and in the long run, usually matitira na lang frame. lahat ng parts, aftermarket na. Tapos, walang katapusang pa-gunsmith. you'd end up paying anywhere from 15-30k sa gunsmithing costs pa lang! wala pa cost ng premium aftermarket parts which can run your bill another 20-30k! add all that up and the sticker price is almost the same as getting a full custom pistol like the sps, sti, svi.

if you opt for a paraord or sti, good to go na out of the box. konting tuning na lang and konting parts na lang kelangan palitan if ever.

sa full custom and low end hi-cap guns, unti-unti mo maiipon mga parts that you want to have and smithing pwede rin patingi-tingi! sa high end, isang malaking butas sa bulsa mo agad.

but in charlie xray's case, he can't afford to have a full custom gun kasi limited time lang siya nandito sa pinas. you're better off getting an sti edge or a ParaOrd instead. well, that is if you're going to make this into a very long term project na iipunin mo muna lahat ng parts tapos pag balik mo iwan sa smith then get it when you return again!

i have nothing against low-end hi-caps or single stacks like the armscor and ranger. in fact, meron akong project gun ginamit ko ranger 1911 as base pistol. ginawa ko sti trojan clone. it took me several months to scrounge and save up for the parts and gunsmithing before it was finished.

here're before and after pics of my ranger/trojan pistol:

yung pistol ni mcoliver sa itaas is a good example of what you can do to customize a 1911 to suit your style and taste! if you have the time for a full house custom gun, i'd say go for it, otherwise, if you can save-up for an sti edge, i'd get the sti instead.

Tama ka dun Eye Cutter, lalo na sa time constraint and ang pinaka-ayaw ko is baka minsan pumalpak ang gunsmith eh instead na matuwa ako baka maasar lang ako. Kumbaga I'd be saving myself the burden and agony og going thru all the hassles diba. So OK na, ako made up my mind na STI EDGE or Tactical para may railing pa rin for a weaponslight then Deenoh it is pero ang malaking GOAL ko ngayon is ipunin yung PAMBILI hehe it's a bit steep pero gaya ng motto ko, walang MAHAL pagka pinag-ipunan.

    Crossing my fingers on this.....
