1911 Heine Sights or other aftermkt sights

    Was at the range this morning, and shot a guys Colt with the blacked out Heine slants. Sights were great, very easy to get a nice sight picture, much better than my Trijicon night sights. Anyone else like these sights? Any other sights to recommend? I'm looking purely to shoot this gun at the range 20-75 feet. Secondly, would you have Heine install or is this easy enough for a local gunsmith?

    I have been using Heinie sights for years. I have on several pistols in various configurations from Slant Pro all black to Straight 8 Ledge 'Qwik". All great sights. Many I installed myself. Should be a snap for local smith, but compare price vs Heinie.

    I like both Novak's and 10-8's sight pictures.

    Heinie has far more than one style of sight. I like them all.

    I have the Novak's on one of my 1911's, I like them a lot, I'm thinking the reason I like the Heine's was the back sight notch was a bit wider than my Novak's so with the lighting at the range, it was a quick and easy sight picture. I checked out the 10-8's, can I get that girl on the web site to come over and install the 10-8's herself.. very nice....

    Debating between the ledge or pro slant if I went with Heine.

    They both are available with the .156 wide rear notch. I like this as it has plenty of light on both sides.

    The Ledge vs Slant Pro comes down to having all the bases covered (use sight for slide racking) vs. Style.

    As I said I have Slant Pro and Ledge on guns. I have no plans to replace the Slants, but if going new install I would chose the Ledge with the wide notch.
