I own a Glock 21, I fired my friends new Rock Island 1911 compact today and really liked it. He told me he bought it new for $435, I cant believe you can get one for that cheap. The sights suck, but it felt nice in my hands and shot very well. Thought I would post here and ask opinions on this one...anyone like this pistol?

    Right behind you...
get the tactical model, same gun little more expensive, but more bells and whistles including better sights.

I got a 9mm Tactical RIA and I love it. Favorite Semi Auto in my collection hands down and its been 100% reliable. I would'nt let the price fool ya its gotta be one of the best values around.

Thanks for the input guys. Too late for the tactical, I went down to my local gunshop and bought one. 1911-A1 CS for $435 after tax. Great value for this gun I think. I notice the point of aim is different than what I'm used to, I almost have to ignore the rear sight altoghter and just smother the target with my front sight, not sure if its because im going from a full-size .45 to a compact or a Glock to a 1911....but for conceal carry, which I bought it for, I believe its a much better point and shoot instinctive shooting gun than my Glock, and definatly thinner, which I love...it boils down to what feels good, and this pistol just feels great in my hands.

Cool, now you don't have to worry about the dreaded Glockleg anymore. Food will taste better. The air will be cleaner. Your general daily existence will be better for it. Welcome to the sickness my friend.
