I wanted to get a simple GI-style 1911. SO...I picked up a Rock Island yesterday at the gunshow. So far I like it. It does have one problem... The front sight is canted/crooked! It has the real small GI sights. Is there any way to fix it? Can it be replaced? I will take it to the range tomarrow and see if it makes a difference. I think it may just be a cosmetic issue. Anyways, the I didn't like the looks of the grips on it, so I bought some cheap ones at the show to give it a "Older" look. Heres some pics.....

    DLL9mm,
The front sight can indeed be replaced. The front sight on your RIA is staked, and requires a staking tool to install the new sight. Any qualified gunsmith can do it.

Thanks for the info. What size staked sights do I need to order? I see there are a couple different styles.
