Keep the 19, save up for any other gun you want, not because there is an "opportunity"! Otherwise you just going to be trading one gun for another, and sooner than later, you will miss that 19.

The guy wants to trade for a reason - LOL!

You will miss the G19 real fast.
Hang on to it and save up for that cannon later.

I've got a G19 and G29, and it really depends on what you want it for... I just recently bought the G29, and absolutely love it. The G19 is just about the same size as the G29, but the G20 is bigger. The 10mm is an awesome round. Very versitle, much more fun to shoot compared to the 9mm, and a devastating self defense round. You can get mild ammo, or nuclear, up to you... I don't understand why the 10mm is not more widely adopted, you have to try one...

As for ammo cost, it's really about the same price as .45 ACP. Do you reload? If so, you can do a lot of different things with the 10mm.

I actually shoot my G29 more accurately than the 19. I do like plinking with the 19, and it's probably an overall more versatile gun compared to the 20, with cheaper ammo, if you're buying store bought. That being said, if I had to choose just one, it would be the G29. I'm not sure about the larger G20, that extra size may make it a tough choice if I was considering CCW. Guys that have the 20 love them, but I'm sure they'll chime in soon.

Make it easy on yourself, buy both!

Well then you've essentially answered your own question.

    Answer: Keep the G-19.

I love my G19! I'd never part with it. Plus, 9mm's a lot cheaper than 10mm.

As cool as 10mm is, the most powerful caliber in the Glock-platform, I'd keep the G19 and save for a G20 if you really want to go that route.

If you have something to fill the G19's place, or a place (online or local) to find 10mm, than go for the G20.

G20's much heavier/thicker to carry too, if it matters. I conceal carry a G21 sometimes, it's doable.

I'd bet that may be the reason he wants to trade.

Keep the 19, and buy a 20SF. You will most likely prefer the SF frame since you are used to the smaller framed 9mm. I really like my 20SF a lot, and I think you will when you get yours. The 10mm does everything the other common cartridges do well and combines all those qualities into a single package. That includes the flat trajectory of the 9mm, 357sig velocity and higher velocity (135gr @ 1600fps), heavy weight bullets (180gr, 200gr, & even 230gr), and recoil really isn't near as bad as some would have you think. The ammo is no more than the cost of 45ACP, and it is your only looking a dollar or so. 45 Auto & 10mm are both good reasons to handload.
