I've been thinking lately about getting a .44 magnum revolver in a 4" barrel configuration, mainly for plinking but also woods carry. I plan on getting into reloading for this cartridge and, since I'm a velocity kinda guy I guess, I'm interested in the 180 grain loads. Are these high velocity loads hard on the guns (analogous to the 125 grain .357 magnums)? I have read about the heavy loads being hard on the Smiths but haven't come across anything on the 180s. Also, does anyone out there have experience with these on whitetails? Thanks for any info that you have on this! Wanna kill these ads? We can help!
