I'm thinking of building either a 1100 or 1187 for the house mainly for my wife. I'm looking to make it 18.5" barrel and was wondering if there was a forend with the integrated light like an 870/500? Or maybe what another option may be without making a vertical forgrip setup?
We live in Ak and this will be my wifes gun for around the cabin. It has to be light, fast and as ergonomic as possible. She has a little bit of a hard time with the 870 pumping the action fast enough and getting followup shots, hence thinking of going semi. The recoil reduction would be a plus as well. Just looking to use 2 3/4 shells.

    Thanks,

There are not 18.5" barrels for the 1100. 21" is all.

There are 18.5" for the 11-87 and these are for the 11-87P but work on any 11-87. However, it restricts you to using only slugs and buckshot.

Surefire makes two forends for the 1100/11-87 they are the 620T and 620TL.

This is not a reliable defensive weapon and feed issues will be a problem for her.
