    Mas,

I did a search, but could not find anything on this. I hope I'm not repeating a question for you.

I recently got a G29SF. I love the gun, and I want to make it my primary self defense gun. My question is, for defense against 2 legged predators, what ammo do you recommend? I'm not interested in any hunting applications.

    Thank you.

My apologies, I meant to post this in the GATE forum, I guess I had the wrong window up. Can a mod please move or delete this?

This is the better place to post this question anyway, IMO. Check out underwoodammo.com. They make 165 and 155 grain gold dot rounds that are the perfect carry ammo for 10mm IMO. Also there is the 135gr nosler that they make that is great for home defense. It pretty much explodes on impact, which does LOTS of damage, and makes it less likely to overpenetrate and go through a wall or door and hurt someone else...

if you can handle true 10mm loaded ammo the 165ish rounds from Underwood would be a good choice.

HUGE Double Tap fan here, but am a big fan of Underwood, if for nothing else, their pricing. I've heard great things about their ammo and will be trying some very soon.

    155 gr. Hornady XTP
It averages 1,278 fps out of my 29 (faster than advertised on the box)

175 grain Silvertips through my 20 never a problem!

I agree. The 175 gr. Silvertips would be more than enough for threats of the two-legged kind.

I tested some of this stuff out, because I carry Critical Defense in other calibers (9X19, .357SIG, .40S&W, .45ACP)

Apparently, Cabela's is the only place to get Hornady CD in .357SIG and 10mm.

I haven't tried Underwood yet, but it's on my short list. I mainly like to roll my own for 10mm since I don't carry that caliber. After I get a G29, though, that will be a different story
