I was impressed by KelTec Sub2000, a foldable rifle that eats 9mm rounds or 40SW. With the 9mm 115gr, it can move the bullet to 1500fps which is 575ftlbs. Seems like an efficient conversion of the 9mm cartridge power to kinetic energy.

I would be interested in one that can eat 10mm rounds, and if it can do with the 10mm what it does for 9mm, such a rifle can bring 10mm energy toward 44mag type of energy for woods defense.

Have you heard of any other brands that takes 10mm Auto?

    My Olympic is nice.
And they finally have plastic mags!
    No clips.

I've heard of 10mm AR-15 uppers. Is that the Olympic rifle?

    Very nice.
That is on my list of the next two or three purchases. Does it run well? Finicky about bullet/load at all?

Thanks, I just did. Two issues:

1.They don't fold like KelTec. KT can fold to 16", the size of a laptop case: great mobility at 4lbs.

2.KelTec can take Glock mags G17 and the 33rnd G18 if you buy the 9mm version, or G21 and the aftermarket 31 round mag if you'd go with the 40SW version.

A call is in order about the 10mm, if they already have the 40SW. Reviews say accuracy is 2" groups at 25 yrds using stock sight for (40SW).

Imagine a Kel-Tec Sub2000 for 10mm that takes G20 mags. On second thought, may be the 40SW is good because of the 31 round mag.

10mm all the way. Imagine the velocity you could get out of 135 grain Nosler with 16" of barrel. You could always use Kriss mag extensions if you want the capacity. It's all just dreaming though. Seems like Kel-tec has to many other revolutionary new designs to keep them busy.

If you're a true 10mm fanatic then you NEED a 10mm long gun. There have been a number of different models produced including the Oly AR15, the Mechtech conversion, Thompson 1928A1, D-Max, TC Contender carbine, Coharie Arms MP5 clone, and Feather RAV-10. I wish Ruger had produced their PC carbines in 10mm!

10mm carbines are a lot of fun, but other than being able to shoot the same ammo as your handgun they really aren't all that practical. In my opinion, if you're going to carry around a carbine you might as well have it in a caliber that's going to make the extra weight worth it. Lately I've been playing with a 9" AR in .300 Blackout that's smaller than my Oly 10mm, yet packs more punch with very little recoil.

    Basically agree with Nordic.
Just neat to have pistols and carbine matches.

Someday I would like to build me a Mechtech, Sorta waiting around on Lonewolf to get the 20/21 frames going so I can have a dedicated receiver. Might buy me a G20 and use that for the lower, and use the lonewolf lower for my pistol.

I put it together myself. The barrel is from Delta Company Arms.

Aaron is very knowledgeable, does great work, and stands by his product. There's a lot of good information on the Blackout over on Silencer Talk.

That's correct and the .300BO is easily adapted to existing 5.56mm platforms (e.g., same mags) ... BUT it was designed, at least primarily, for suppressed use.

And with a 300BO SBR, a can is obligatory for use inside structures ... so you are running a can on your set-up, right?

It's a fairly large effort to get something that small here in New Zealand but there is a local importer bringing in the HERA Triarii stock conversions which make pistols into carbines. I have one for my P226 and just ordered one for my glock 20 10mm.....should be good fun. They have similar handling characteristics to the AR platform, but obviously the mags come out the grip.

The only other downside is they use the pistol barrel, so ballistically they are the same as a pistol, just a lot more accurate - even with the MBUS that come with them. And the stock folds up to fit in a case which is great.

If only someone made hi-cap 10mm mags for glock 20.....sigh.:crying:

I have a question for those of you who know the 10mm out of longer barrels. Is there much gain between 12 and 16 inches, do you guys know where the efficiency of the cartridge is optimal in barrel length?

Not as much as you might think or hope for. Once you get pst 5 or 6 inches in barrel length the gains begin to taper off.

    Check it out: http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/10mm.html

That tells me what I want to know. It would really be worth while then to go ahead and try to SBR something because your not losing much between say 18 inches and 12.
