I just got a new G23 for Christmas and was wondering where I can get a good deal on range ammunition. Saw a couple places online but it seems expensive.. 300-400 for .40 S&W! Where do you guys buy your ammo if you buy it online?

I have had extremely good results in my G-22 using Federal Champion 180 gr. FMJ-FN ammo. I have recently tried the Winchester 165 gr. FMJ load in the 100 rd. box. Results were excellent. Function and on target accuracy with either load has been perfect. Both are affordable and for range/recreational shooting, either would be a good choice.

I buy most of my range ammo at Wal Mart when they have some in stock. They seem to have .40 more often than 9mm and the elusive .45 and .380acp.

  6. It is starting to get easier to find cases of factory ammo at reasonable prices. Earlier this year, in the depths of the supply crunch, I relied on this commercial reloader with very good results. All brass (naturally), Rainier TCJ bullets and no price increase since March. I have visited his facility. While its nothing fancy, he has good equipment and knows what he's doing. Local PDs buy from him. I use his prices as a benchmark for factory ammo. So, 9mm needs to be <$200/1000 and .45acp<$320/1000. If that sounds good to you, check him out.

Check out http://www.gun-deals.com and search 9mm or which ever caliber. Even tells you how much your paying per bullet.

Wow all those places are expensive. Walmart has the best deals that I've seen.

This past Saturday I went by Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries. Swinging by the sporting goods section, I found they had in stock Winchester White Box 9mm FMJ's for $8.99/50rds., WWB .40 S&W 165 gr. FMJ's for $31/100rds. and WWB .45 ACP 230 gr. FMJ's for $34/100rds. HTH. Sincerely. Brucev.

Thanks for the mention, Firedawg60! We do have .40 cal ammo in stock at the moment, including stuff from CCI, Blazer, Federal, and Remington (amongst others). To give you an example, we've currently got 7 cases in stock of Winchester White Box (500 rounds of 165 grain FMJ) for $0.37 per round.
