Am I the only guy to realize how darn good Aquila Ammo is? And how hard it is for an old school Texican to admit that the Mexicans are DOING IT BETTER?

I've only shot the .22 stuff; petty good.

My L1A1 likes their .308.

Their 12ga mini shells are great in a pump. 8 shot held 14.

Do you feel it is better than most other manufactures or just a good affordable option?

I have used it, but never developed much of an opinion on the company. My personal go to ammunition manufacture is Federal. For three reasons, cheap, reliable and readily available (aka my local Walmart).

There are a lot of great ammo options today and they are easier to find compared to a few years ago.

I've been using Aguila for years.

I started out by buying a brick of standard velocity at a gun show. $7.00 as I recall.

Turns out it was more accurate than any 22 ammo I've shot.

Right now if I could find it at a comparable price with Winchester, Remington, etc, I'd buy a bunch of it.

In the last year I've shot almost 3K rounds, including 200 yesterday, of 9mm Aguila in both 115 and 124 grain. There have been no functioning or accuracy problems at all. The only quibble I have is it that it leaves a bit of unburned powder flecks in the action, but I clean my guns after each range session so not a real issue.

And it's not near as bad as the thousand rounds of Prvi Partizan that I also shot last year. Never buy that nasty stuff again.

I bought the Aguila because at that time it was available and very price competitive. When available and reasonably priced, which it isn't always, my preference in handgun range ammo is IMI and Speer Lawman, but I'll use Aguila again should circumstances dictate.

When I couldn't get CCI Mini-Mags a couple years ago I bought some Aguila Interceptor .22 LR bricks. At that point in time my Kimber .22 kit for my 1911s would only reliably cycle Mini-Mags. Tried the Interceptors in it and they have functioned perfectly through almost a thousand rounds. Accuracy (I'm the limiting factor) is almost as good as the Mini-Mags.

I had read that a few years ago Aguila partnered with a firm out of Texas to review and improve their ammunition production. After new equipment and quality controls their ammunition is supposed to be much improved over the poor reputation it previously had. Can't vouch for anything of theirs except what I have used, but it has been acceptable for its intended range ammo purpose.

I've used their .22 LR and its worked great in my M&P 22 where Federal and a few others given me malfunctions.
Just received a shipment of 300 rounds of their 9mm 124gr Fmj for plinking purposes.
Haven't shot it yet, but I figured at 21ish cents a round shipped for 124gr, I'd give it a try.

One of the online venders ran a special on their Interceptor .22's around 2012, not too long before Sandy Hook, that worked out to 4.2 cents a round. I bought 10k of it, shot the snot out of it and when I went to look for some more, found out ALL .22 ammo had vanished.

Except on GunBroker, at any given time during the shortage, there was around 12 million rounds for sale there, at ludicrous prices.

I have well into the 5 digits stock pile of Aguila 9mm. After shooting all the major brands of ammo, and for the price I can get Aguila at, I find it the best bang for the buck for range/practice ammunition. Shoots straight, shoots very consistent, and shoots clean. What else do ya need?

Here is a target I used a couple weeks ago. 10 round group of Aguila 9mm 115g, Glock34, from 75 feet.
