Glock loses a customer

So in short they sell me a 43 with a bad extractor. I call them to, rightfully, ask them to send me a replacement. They tell me they can only send me a replacement to a GCA "I assume you know what that means". Well this is like a 4 hour course right, maybe 8 hours? The only GCA I know is a girl who doesnt even know how to take her Glock apart and I have no idea how to contact her nor would I want to.

So they wont honor their warranty but will "sell" me one from their store. A part my German Shepard could install. This is a load of BS. I'm done with Glock.

There are to many good guns out there. Now I have to pay $24 because they wont honor their warranty with some cute rule.

when I had my m&p and needed a new extractor I called and they said we can ship you one and you can put it in or we email you a label and send it to us and we will do it I went with the fix it myself had to buy some punches but oh well put it in and fixed my problem. when I kept getting brass to the mug I emailed glock and they just said heres a free two day return label send us the gun so I did. they replaced the extractor the plunger and one other thing but I forget. hot damn it was all free. about a week and a half after sending the gun in I was bored and thinking about when I would get the gun back and I **** you not about a half hour later fed ex stopped in front of my house with it freaked me out. just send the gun back hell they might fix other stuff and hell its free.

For what it is worth, if my company sold someone a bad part I would replace the part for free. But having said that maybe their policy is having a GCA making sure that is the problem, I guess I can understand that. I have been lucky and every Glock I have owned has run perfect, so never had to deal with it. Anyway, I hope you get it fixed and have fun shooting it!

I remember when I first joined this site 10 years ago, there where a lot of people on here that provided very good info and knowledge about all glocks. I learned so much on here over the years, but it seems this gentleman has some real issues with glock the company more than glock the gun... I bought a Ruger Gp 100 dropped some cash for this beautiful revolver. Ordered it from my friend who locally owns a pawn shop here in Ky. Got the gun it looked like
it was a Friday afternoon made gun,, all kinds of finish marks all over over it ... It was rough as Hell>>> Called Ruger they sent a call tag and the revolver came back a week later.. Perfect as it could be.. Fix the glock yourself or sale the Darn thing.. Or send it to me I will fix it... Use the knowledge on this site to help you be a better gun owner...

Knowledge? 1/2 the replys are smart ass one Liners from children who act like someone threw mud at their favorite GI Joe doll.

I dont need you to fix it. I can fix it. A moron can fix it. How hard is it to replace a Glock extractor?

Harder than complaining you didn't get your way, apparently. You came here expecting sympathy and didn't get it. You DID get information on how to get your gun fixed easily and most likely free.

Tomorrow do this:
1. Call Glock tech support. Be friendly and polite (that's the price you have to pay for sympathy)
2. Tell the nice man what trouble you're having with your gun and ask the cheapest way to get it corrected.
3. Ask to be transferred back to the receptionist
4. Tell the receptionist I told you that they frequently have Glock branded promotional items available for the asking. Usually they take your mailing address and send lots. Some may be useless to you, but many people have reported finding a useful gem in the packet.

It's human nature to want to help nice people and shun the not nice (name callers, *****y, sarcastic, etc) The Glock people enjoy hearing how they've exceeded customers expectations.

Good luck and best wishes.

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

OP, take a deep breath and regroup. Glock has every intension of resolving any issue throught their own protocol, which perhaps may not be in the fashion you'd like to see or are accustomed to. Many manufacturers adhere to the same or similar methods of dealing with warranty or repair issues, ie., it's been my understanding that Ruger will NOT send you a part for a warranty item...they insist that you send them the entire firearm for parts replacement/fitment. In this way they can be assured that the repair was undertaken properly to their exacting standards, in an effort to make the customer happy and provide them with a functioning and safe firearm back in return - while limiting or eliminating their liability.

For you see, in this day and age, it's all about liability, and I certainly don't fault the manufacturers for wanting to limit their liability, because it's what helps keep them in business! If you were a manufacturer, you wouldn't have batted an eye at Glock's request, and instead you'd have understood it completely, and capitulated.

The options between sending it to Glock or finding a GCA to install a factory provided item or buying/installing the part yourself is a personal choice that only you can make. I worked in the manufacturing/fabrication business for many years, am capable of undertaking most repairs, have numerous firearms at my disposal, and am never in a hurry, so I personally don't find fault in any of the aformentioned choices. You may feel differently and that's your prerogative, but you should try and understand from the manufacturers viewpoint the reasons for Glock's policies, instead of being quick to badmouth them for not conforming to your standards, as they've got alot more to lose than you do...

My only contact with a GLOCK Armorer was pretty much a waste of time. I just went to Glockparts to get what I needed. Overall Glock has treated me pretty well whenever I called, but one guy couldn't find me in the system. Sometimes you get a person that is having trouble that day and things just don't go as they should. Next time you'll probably have it go much better, or there may not even be a next time-The GLOCK 43 is a serious unit! Chalk up the trouble you had as a learning experience.

Again, no dog in this fight, but given the responses, I will laugh hysterically the next time someone complains about Springfield not sending gun parts for users to use to repair their XD's while under warranty. After all, lifetime warranty... easy to send a gun in, etc., never need a part shipped, right?

Ten years ago this forum was flooded with criticism of XD's for not providing parts for end user's to service simple things that could be done easily by the owner. Now I am learning that if it is covered by a warranty (as Springfield is), it is perfectly logical, completely fair, and not a big deal, to just use the warranty or follow the warranty process.

The OP clearly isn't understanding Glock's logical reasons for wanting to control quality and repairs (which is Glock's right), but others have vocally complained about XD's lifetime warranty and not providing parts... and we cannot have it both ways.

I go back to the slides... I can get a spare or replacement slide from SIG, no problem. But Glock absolutely refuses to sell a slide. I am not defending the OP, but I am also not going to blindly defend Glock, either! They can be generous at times, but they can also be nit-picky, fuss buttons!

Now where is my "Certifried Burgerer"? My pickles are warm and icky, and there is too much mustard on my sam'ich.
