"Molon Labe" coin rings for sale.

Here's the deal:

I'm retired and enjoy making coin rings and other repurposed small metal art. I first started making rings 39 years ago in graduate school while training to become an Industrial Arts instructor.

This is a hobby, not a business. 100% of all profits are donated to charity. My charity is the Shriners Hospitals for Children. They run a network of 22 non-profit medical facilities across North America at which children with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the patients' ability to pay. As a child, I enjoyed annual trips to the circus and a yearly fundraising football game because of my grandfathers active membership in the Shriners. As an adult, I took my own daughter to a Shriner's Hospital for scoliosis treatment as they had the best scoliosis specialist in our region.

Just recently I figured out how to use 1 oz pure (.999%) copper and silver coin rounds to make comfortable, large, aesthetically pleasing rings in a full range of sizes (7-15). Prior to this, I could only make these into large (size 10+) rings that weighed too much for comfortable daily wear. However, if you are someone with very large fingers; and, want a traditional 2-sided heavy coin ring, I still do these for $37 - shipped.

I'm having a great time making these and would like to sell a few to cover my expenses and to increase my annual donation to the Shriner's.

Each coin ring start as a 1 oz copper round. Each coin is annealed and then folded into a tube shape. I then mill out the center of each tube (the copper shavings in the picture) for a uniform wall thickness. Each ring is then sized, acid bathed, polished, patinaed, then polished again to highlight its details. The rings are then sealed in a protective coating to help maintain their color and to minimize any "green" skin reactions for those sensitive to copper. The coating I use is the best surface protection currently available for jewelry!

Estimated delivery time is currently running 2 to 3 weeks. Each ring is shipped USPS "Priority" mail, insured, with a tracking number. I don't use any fancy packaging (it just adds to the cost!). Each ring is carefully wrapped in fine tissue paper and sealed in a small plastic bag. Enclosed with each is a care and cleaning recommendation sheet.

How to order:

No deposit is required!

E-mail works best.

My email is mreganwa@gmail.com. Please put "Coin Ring, -----(please identify which one you want!)" in the subject line, and put "I want one in a size ____". Don't forget to Include a shipping address! I'll email you a confirmation that your order has been received and that I have a coin still available if you want one of the limited run. Once the ring is ready, I'll send you a PayPal payment request and ship when payment is received. I use regular PayPal for ease of shipping and for the buyer's protection since this is a non-firearm sale.

If you don't use PayPal, I'll send you my address for a money order.
