I personally will pass on the high priced kimber -
Now if you want to have fun I also found a pre lock 4in S&W 629 for 700 bucks. Yes I know we were talking about a little kimber but I had to throw that out there.
I bought a Ruger LCR in 327 Federal just to get six shots and still have a smaller cylinder. I put the longer Hogue Tamer stock on mine. I am very leery of Kimber's reputation, but if I could handle it...I might buy it. I have a Taurus 605 as my only 357 snubbie, I have had mine for years with no trouble...though I do not shoot it much with 357. I do trust it, I could learn to trust a Kimber.
Someone mentioned the S&W performance center revolvers,
Have you checked the prices on them? The S&W model 60 performance center model msrp is 799.00 , so now the kimber price doesn't seem so outrageous.

Nothing wrong w Taurus revolvers. I have had S&W 686, Ruger GP100 and I have a Taurus Tracker. I love all 3. There is also nothing about the other 2 that would make the Taurus a less suitable weapon to save your life. Ok, the Smiths tolerances are a little tighter and it seems that Taurus possibly skimps on finish a smig. But only to be able to bring you a quality gun at a great price point. Have they made a mistake many years back? Probably. But so has others. I have had Glock, Smith, Colt, Ruger semis malfunction. Are they crap? No. I never understood why some dog Taurus. My bet is most never even owned one
Handled one at the LGS recently. Liked it a lot, felt great in the hand, looked great. Too expensive, don't like shrouded revolvers generally. But it has a recessed cylinder! Want to see how they shake out over time. Will seriously consider one when it comes with an exposed hammer.
Grant Cunningham was only involved in the design. He's not doing anything to Kimber's production quality. If you can get a K6s that runs well, it's going to be massively superior to a J-frame. IF.
The review (rightfully) questioned Kimbers quality control and found 2 minor issues with the revolver he tested. Once in full production, I would not have much confidence in Kimber to stay on top of quality control, as well as their ability to actually take care of customer issues.
My only experience with Kimber was with an Ultra Carry Custom, and it was enough to sour me on the brand.
J-frames have been around for decades, and are a known commodity. I'll stick with my 340PD.
