Fellow GSSF'ers,

GSSF has grown considerably over the last 15 years. Membership has experienced a phenomenal growth since pistol purchase certificates were implemented. The GSSF Staff, however, is still relatively small, overworked and under-appreciated.

I urge you to use Priority Mail w/delivery confirmation when submitting your certificates to GSSF. The cost is only $4.60 and may save you a lot of aggravation. I do not know what the stated lead time is on current certificates. It may now be 16 weeks. I'm not sure. Do not call or write GSSF during that period, but if you have had no response during that period, I suggest contacting GSSF the day after that period expires. This is when and why it is so important to have the proof of delivery date.

And be sure to submit your certificate(s) before the expiration date(s).

Use Priority Mail!

So just yesterday I am thinking did I wright down when I mailed out my certificate, actually i sent it register receipt and I never got notice that Glock received it, it must be lost in the mail.

I figured I would call today and ask if they got it and if they didn't what I am supposed to do if it got lost.

Last night I am balancing the check book and there is the charge from Jan 6th showing they processed my order .

Man its tough getting older and forgetting whats going on around me . I love my free Glock guns, we are so lucky to have a company like Glock continuing a program like this one that does so much good for the sport.

Almost. I sent the papers for a 19g4 in March 2016. It shipped mid December. The FFL I used closed their shop in November [emoji22] So fedex was unable to deliver it and it went back to Smyrna. I was unaware they'd closed until Glock told me there was a problem with delivery. I provided an alternate FFL within a couple of days and am waiting for it to ship again.

Damn, well keep us posted when it does finally arrive! I can hardly wait anymore for mine

Has anyone from this past year gotten their Glock 19? If so, how long was your wait?

I mailed mine out in July but didn't get my confirmation til August. Still waiting, but wanted to compare.
I mailed my certificate on July 1. Didn't receive any kind of confirmation (didn't have any indication that I should expect it). The requested 20wk wait before contacting ended up being right around thanksgiving - which is an incredibly busy time at work, so I didn't contact GSSF Indoor until a week later. Apparently there's been some turnover at GSSF Indoor, because the contact listed on the certificate was different than the one listed on the website. I emailed Stephanie Stone and she got right back to me. After a few back & forths, she determined that she couldn't find my cert (along with several others that she was trying to locate). So a couple more weeks go by as she's trying to validate the range and our league (apparently that info was also missing with info from other ranges & leagues). But lo and behold, Stephanie came through. She verified our league & range, and put in my order for a G19 gen4. I received it at my FFL on Jan 6.

If you've passed the 20wk mark, contact GSSF. But be patient. The new folks are working as fast as they can to clear up what looks like a huge mess that the previous folks created.

Finally picked up my G26 today. This is actually my first Glock and looking forward to shooting it. I didn't get Glock perfection, there is a small assembly flaw on the slide back plate and it appears they forgot to include the test fire rounds. Oh well, not a big deal, I think I can see some brass dust so I'm hoping it was test fired.

Just got an update, my Glock 19 Gen 3 was finally shipped yesterday, 1/19/17!

Total time for people interested:

7/21/16: Certificate delivered to Glock

8/4/16: Receipt confirmed

1/19/17: Glock 19 shipped
So, they send you an email update when they ship your firearm? I hadn't heard of that.

Was quite pleasantly surprised yesterday when my FFL called and told me a Glock had been transferred in.

Gen 4 G19
Certificate mailed priority mail: 18 October 2016
Rcvd by Glock: 20/21 October 2016
Receipt acknowledged by GSSF: 25 October 2016
Credit card debited: 28 October 2016
Gun arrived: 24 Feb 2017

Reviewing the previous comments I consider myself extremely fortunate (a. for winning a random gun, and b. for getting it so quickly).

Now just have to change the slide release since the stock one is a bear to move.

I won the lotto and was drawn for 2 random pistol certificates (shot 5 entries) at the GSSF Griffin match. I sent my certificates in after Thanksgiving and selected a Gen 4 21 and a Gen 4 30. I noticed that my card was charged for 1 upgrade fee between Christmas and New Years but wasn't sure which Glock it was for since both pistols had an identical upgrade cost. Got the call on Saturday from my FFL that my Glock had arrived. Went and picked it up yesterday and it was the 30. Pretty pleased that it came in less than 3 months! The upgrade charge for the 21 still has not posted to my credit card so anyone's guess is as good as mine as to when that will arrive.

This may be a dumb question, but how do you go about getting a copy of an FFL? Just walk into your LGS and ask for one?
Yes and no. They might not want to give you a copy, rather they might want to send it themselves. I went to my ffl with the envelope ready, he made the copies, I put them in the envelope while still there. I asked if he wanted me to leave it for him to mail but he let me take it.

I feel like it shouldn't be that hard to get you one. How often do you bug the GSSF staff for updates?
I try not to be a pest. I've probably called 3 times on this one and exchanged a few emails (mostly coordinating getting them a new FFL copy). On the one hand, it's a (mostly) free Glock. On the other, this waiting has been ridiculous. It's not like I ordered a Gen4 G24 MOS. How hard can it be to ship out a Gen4 G19?

Geez.

I was going to purchase one of these certificates from someone. I'm glad I didn't. I'd rather pay an extra $50-$100 and just buy one instead of waiting 6 months to a year to get the gun.
:) That's the bit most don't warn you about. On mine, IIRC, at the bottom it said to expect to wait up to 20 weeks for delivery. I'm at 49.5 weeks.

I can maybe handle 20 weeks if it was a guaranteed 20 weeks at most. 20 weeks is silly, IMO; but if you know what you're getting into ahead of time, then at least you can make the decision. However, if 20 weeks turns into 60 weeks, that's terrible. If you want something like a 24 or 17L or whatever, I can understand the special runs. But from a 17 or 19 or whatever, there should be a gun in the pipeline to get to you.

I suppose they figure, "you're getting the gun for free (or almost free) so if you don't want to wait... tough poop."
