They are out there :dancing:

Found this today at a Gunshow today. I know the vendor and he said he bought it from a friend of his and that it had never been fired after his friend bought it new, I have bought several guns from him and they have always been what he says they are. After I bought it I took it by a Glock gunsmith that goes to all the shows and he verified that it appeared to never have been fired after it left the factory. Serial number is XUxxx, which is around November 1991. Have been looking for one for awhile so I didn't hesitate at all to buy it. Now if I can just find a Gen 1.

After I got home I field stripped it and I see absolutely no signs that this gun has ever been fired.

Intend to shoot it tomorrow and change the unfired status.

Checking out the gun further has me a little confused. This G17 with serial XUxxx is supposed to be outside the 6 Part "UPGRADE" which shows XG as the cutoff. It has 4 of the upgrade parts and 2 of the older style parts. The firing pin, the firing pin safety and spring, and extractor are the upgraded parts. The trigger with trigger bar and the spring load bearing are the old style.

Anybody have any insight on why the mix of parts?

finally got around to shooting the gun. Loaded up the 2 included magazines and went out and tried it out. Had two failure to eject completely out of the first 10 rounds, in both cases the empty casing was facing backwards inside the slide keeping the slide from closing, the rest of the rounds and the 2nd mag fired without a hitch. I had disassembled the slide and checked and cleaned everything previously. Hopefully it just needed a few break in rounds. Will change out the old style spring loaded bearing and give it another try and take a few more loaded magazines this time.

While replacing the spring loaded bearing I found some surface rust in the area of the extractor and cleaned that area and went out and shot 3 full magazines (51 rounds) without any failures. Don't know exactly what fixed it but it does seem to be fixed now. Ejection pattern is typical Glock, all over the place, however no brass to the face.
