Progressive "leaning" as it applies to the abuses of monolithic corporations and implicit bias of a government that is connected to (as in the FDA and Pharma) or looks the other way. I refer you http://www.heritage.org/political-process/report/theodore-roosevelt-progressive-crusader:Hellooooo.... that's not "Progressive leaning" that's CONSERVATIVE.
Conservative... RIGHT leaning is; the smallest amount of government we can properly function with.
"Progressive" (yeah, right) "economics" is "Keynesian economic theory".
Ok, Mr. Smartypants; tell us all; What is the difference between Keynesian economic theory and Austrian Economics?
Take your time...................
I find it interesting that prosecutors and judges listen to you and do not argue with you but do something different when they are actually in court. I could guess at what that means, but I would also guess that then you would say that it is "stuuuuuuuupid"That would be a pretty stuuuuuuuupid guess.
Like most others... like you... they typically go by "case law" rather than "constitutional law".
There is a difference. You might want to make a note of it.
Have you ever exclaimed to a county prosecutor "THAT'S ILLEGAL!" and then see them get that really DUMB look on their face?
It'ssssssssss PRICELESS!!!
Especially when you grew up with that kid and know his parents well.
ALWAYS so VERY disturbing when i talk to a criminal defense attorney about defensive use of firearms and they DON'T KNOW THE LAW. Rich.... making money off defending people.... but doesn't even REALLY know the laws... the laws WRITTEN in their own state!
Do you know what's even better than that???
When such people figure out you are RIGHT.
Yeah..... they just don't look at you the same after that.... they LISTEN.
But you... you have some 44 THOUSAND posts under your belt.... and somehow that makes you some kind of expert.
Brilliant!
See; it just shows how much you DON'T know about what you're talking about. You are guessing.
I lived in the Los Angeles area for 20 years and owned a photography studio... among other businesses... and i worked in places like Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc. I lived in places like Laguna Beach, Redondo, Malibu, etc.
Lately, since 1993, i've lived on an island, on the water, 100 YARDS of waterfront, salt water on THREE sides of my house, a dock, a boathouse, a KILLER post card view... almost 360 DEGREES of it... sun all day long.... oh and a year round, sheltered, deep water cove. Buttttt... of course, you being so wise and smart you would really understand the value of that.... hahahaha... NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT... Hmmmmm... maybe you do understand the value of never having to go anywhere to take a vacation... or fishing off your FRONT LAWN and catching KING SALMON... or crab... etc.
Oh, oh, oh... have you ever seen a Bald Eagle swoop down and grab a BIG salmon out of the water and fly away with that sucker???
Happens all the time around here.
Yeah, we're so poooor... som ov uz onle hab 5 bot, mon!
Do you know what "b o a t" stands for?
Bring On Another Thousand.
Do you know what we have in our moat?
Yessss... yesss... of course we have MASSIVE sharks... and, yeah, well, yeah... we have the worlds LARGEST octopussies.... and NUCLEAR SUBMARINES... but do you know what else we have?
KILLER WHALES!!!
If the cold water don't get ya... the Killer Whales surely will.
Do you know who any of my grand fathers where?
HAHAHAHA... noooo... noooo you don't.
And you don't think i know anything about money or "rich people".... hahahahahahahhahahaaa...
And you think you know what "rich" is and where the "rich" get all their money.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA.........
NO WONDER YOU VOTED FOR HILARY AND HATE TRUMP!!!
BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
YER KILL'N MEEEE!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!
"Oh... he got a BIG boat... he got a BIG house... he got a NICE car... ooooooo... he must be SMART!
Ummmmmm...... no.
NEXT CONTESTANT!
I like your "Poker is the game of Business" model analogy. I can see elements of that model in how Amazon/Jeff Bezos and Facebook/Mark Zuckerberg began and ran their startups. In the early days of the company's existence, the business world was scratching their collective heads in amazement wondering how Amazon and Facebook could survive operating at a loss for so many years, decades even. And..what was their endgame? Fast forward to the present day and we see just how well Bezos and Zuckerberg read the changing economic and social landscape, and steered their companies in that direction. Now, of course, they are both billionaires.I figure we can survive he truth, whatever it is, so we better start.
I can see how a corporation needs to count itself as an entity with a vote... a say in maters that concern it... kinda like a "person". BUT, it's started, controlled, run, etc., by individuals... and so there is no passing the buck blaming any crimes they might commit as they are always individuals working together. Amazon has a pretty interesting business model. I'm not sure i like it at all. They supposedly don't take any profit... but i bet there's some "employees" there getting paid some pretty FAT salaries.... and that's "taking profit" in my book. And i have some other concerns... but as far as i can tell it is "legal". I guess we'll have to just see how it plays out. I don't have a lot of time to study it.
Poker is the game of business. Want to learn business? Learn to play poker. Everybody plays by different rules... and you'll be amazed at which players turn out to be the most outrageous liars.... as well as the players that turn out to be the biggest winners. The guy you think is the dumbest dimwit of the bunch can turn out to be the guy that cleans the table off and goes home with all the money... everyones money... and a BIG smile. And the player who you thought was the smartest... goes home OWEING. Don't be that guy... hahaha... but hey... it's not personal... it's business.
Agreed. in today's meaning, the word "progressive" was a bit regressive as a choice of words. Considered it a misspeak. The word may have been apt in meaning around the turn of the last century when addressing the power and influence amassed by the Rockefellers and Carnegies, but not today.I'm not so sure that wanting big government out of bed with big business is strictly a "progressive" line of thought. Both establishment party's are guilty of that and that is the reason, IMHO, for the rise of the Tea Party and in large part Trump. Maybe it would be better to use another adjective to describe your line of thought?
A solution for breaking up the corporate/political partnership is actually MORE Capitalism with LESS regulation. Big business uses regulation to tamp down competition and isolate markets. Maybe Trump is on the right path when he ordered that 2 regs be removed for every 1 created? He is of the "big business" world but many believed his rhetoric and I'm willing to give the guy a chance.
Have a good one.
How Democratically correct of you...most liquor stores don't *serve* liquor, they sell it to take with you. But liquor stores do often get robbed and people get shot by criminals. If you think its smart to leave your gun in the car that's OK by me, but don't expect me to agree with you.Even though I can absolutely see why they wouldn't want guns in a liquor store.
Still confused about Milo. In PDRK, I take Glocks and nukes everywhere. You argue mean target practice sooner. jk. I like VX, mortars, flamethrowers,...ya know, the good stuff.I agree. Assuming all liberals are gun hating protesters is the same as assuming all conservatives are bible thumping bigots. Just saying. Sometimes it's true, but not usually. For both sides.
I have a personal, fundamental belief that firearms and alchohol don't mix. It's a play on words....politically correct. Democrats really seem to be the masters of political correctness, so, 'Democratically Correct' just makes sense to me.
I guess I don't understand why you "can absolutely see why they wouldn't want guns in a liquor store". While I can certainly understand why 'they' wouldn't want criminals coming into a liquor store (with, or without a gun), I do not understand why there would be something wrong with a law abiding person carrying their gun into one.
Do you assume that everyone going into a liquor store is under the influence? Why would you think it wrong to carry in a liquor store?
Theory? More like an observation I think. Anti-gunners would be most pleased to hear that you are voluntarily doing just what they want you to do....not exercise your 2nd Amendment rights!I have a personal, fundamental belief that firearms and alchohol don't mix.
In no form or fashion. Imbibing or not.
Edit: this is why I have an issue with your PC theory you came up with up there.
Ignorant huh? I'm not the one who's disarming myself for no good reason. You don't know me and you don't understand why I might say that. You just made some kind of ignorant guess.
I go through the whole store window-shopping, as it were, and then hand them the card as I leave. I don't show the gun, don't tell them I'm carrying (concealed), but they probably figure it out or at least are concerned. More than once, though, I've had the clerk I handed it to agree and wish they could carry at work because "you never know."I always wondered how you get them the card. I assume you are carrying and will not enter if posted so do you ask them to come out from the doorway? How do you logistically make tour point.
