I took it down completely for the first time for a thorough cleaning tonight.
The locking block pin looks like it is painted black (epoxy?) and the paint is scraped off in the center 1/3rd of the pin. I peeled away a small flake that was hanging off when I got the pin out of the frame. The other two pins are shiny and unscraped, pistol works fine.
Is this normal for this pin, or does it point to an issue with the pistol?
Locking block pin the one that hold the slide release lever? If so, some people mangle that on removal by just banging on the pin. It's locked in place by the lever. You need to wiggle the lever to get it clear of the slot cut in the pin.
I remember a yahoo on youtube saying sometimes you really needed to pound on the pin to get it out. He didn't know about the lever.
Dudel, on 3 pin Glocks, the locking block pin is the one on top of the trigger pin. The locking block pin is the one where you slip the slide stop lever spring under. The trigger pin, the bigger pin, captures the slide stop lever in place.
I took my new G26 Gen4 apart to clean it after a long day at the range and found the same thing. The locking block pin had a big chunk of paint missing and another large flake hanging off of it? Why is Glock painting these pins ? Mine has a clear coat and a black coat on that pin only? I ordered two new ones, but why are they doing this? is the pin undersized and this is a way of compensating ? Why don't they just make the pins the rite size and then blue them ???
I had the same trouble with my G 32, after 50 shoots pin started to slide out...pulled it and it was as you describe...replaced all pins with ss ones and end to the problem...bought from EDZ...
Sry, my bad...the correct name is NDZPerformance Accesories.com
