I don't have any reason to go above 9mm for caliber and size is about how well the gun handles in the real world. Any 9mm that's sized for real shooting has plenty of capacity.

I would use "power" instead of caliber. Caliber alone might imply a .45 would be preferable to a 10mm, or that .40 and 10mm (or .357 mag and .38) are the same. Isn't power a combination of caliber/mass and speed?
Thinking about it some more, it really boils down to what provides peace of mind for your circumstances. What threats do you plan for? What can you handle proficiently? What can you conceal? Much of that is beyond the triangle, as it's somewhat vague and psychological.
For me, the sweet spot on the Decutor Triangle is somewhere around a Glock 43 or S&W Shield 45, each with a spare mag on the belt. Small enough to carry and conceal all day, adequate capacity and good caliber.
I really depends on the platform. If you favor the HK USP Compact, the .40 or .357 Sig is your best combination (mathematically) as you only have a one round deficit. On the other hand, if you like the Beretta 92 platform, clearly the 9mm at 17+1 trumps the .40 at 12+1. The Glock with two rounds is the Gray are, and admittedly I've been going back and forth between my 19 and 23 as of late.
I see this more as a Venn diagram, with the different considerations having their own circles and overlapping, at their individual relevant areas, in the combination preferred by the individual.
I also see the resulting overlap of influences being significantly weighted toward being "mission specific".

I would also include ammo cost. While I would love to have an unlimited ammo budget, I don't. 9mm let's me shoot considerably more than .45 for the same $$$.
