6+1 .45 ACP trumps 6+1 9mm Euro, and Thin is a win for CC/IWB.

...but haters gotta hate.

Thin, Light Weight, Compact, Reliable, .45 ACP - GLOCK G36.

Yes, it's a GLOCK.

Have Two, Had Three, shoot Five regularly - Zero (0.0) operational malfunctions of Any Kind after Thousands of rounds.

They are GLOCKs.

And, being a light weight, compact .45 ACP, are even more prone to malfunction due to Shooter Incompetence.

Yes, 6+1 - just like the beloved li'i G43 GLOCK.

Practice Tactical Reloading until you can do it in your sleep, at 03:00, in your Chuck Norris jammmies,

...and always carry a spare mag.

Congrats on the 36. It's a nice shooter. I shot that and the 30 before settling on the 30s. It wasn't because of added capacity but because of the way it felt in my hand. If I was in the market for a single stack 45, I would look at the 36, 45 Shield, and possibly the XDs (I just can't give XDs the same love as the 36/Shield).

Yes, .45acp love. My passion is 9mm but .45acp is a close second. Enjoy you pistol and be safe.

Congratulations,
I bought the 30S, I picked up the 36 to compare and see which one I liked and the 30S was more my fancy. I like the 36 also but the 30S won me over. The 30S had the rail on it which I wanted for a night stand gun also. That way I could carry it and it could also do double duty for me with light and laser. That was probably the most deciding factor for me. Congratulations on that 36, you are correct definitely a Glock.

I have always wanted one
I was looking for a smaller 45 and when I saw a guy with the nickname 23 Nutter (the 23 being a .40 cal) really liking the 36, I thought that was something. Rented one at the range, liked it, bought one and it shoots EVERYTHING I've fed it from reloads to boutique ammo, I am very happy. No problems with any round type and I've easily put 1000+ rds through it. Bought it in November of 2015. I like the 6+1+6 (extra mag) and practicing smooth reloads.

The Newest Production Runs of the Glock 36 have a pictatinny rail now... I just never warmed up to that gun and its "longish grip" from front strap to backstrap feels FAWNKY to me! Congrats on a Good CCW Piece!

I'm sure in a world where humans are always either naked or wearing denim, made of ballistic gel, and boneless, the 9mm is every bit as effective as the 45.

That's great that they did a 'refresh', I just wish they'd gone a little further and given it the full Gen4 treatment. I feel the same as you about the grip.

It's ironic to me that Glock updated the G36, one of it's lowest-selling models, with a rail. But I posted a thread in the HK forum a year or so ago wondering aloud why HK doesn't update the rail on the USP, and I got told how it would be prohibitively expensive.

The Shield 45 has a 3.3" Bbl., found to be too short for std. pressure SD ammo.

The 3.3" XDs proved that, resulting in the XDs 4.0"

A 4" Bbl. Shield 45 would be sweet.

'till then:

close enough in size to be able to use the same leather gear.

I use to own a G36, really liked it, but went with more than twice the ammo in the same sized gun instead...

without calipers I was unable to detect the minute differences with my hand and while carry IWB.

Very easy to do.

Field-strip the frame. Put it in a zip-lock bag. Slit the bag and pull the horn through. Mask off to seal the slit.
- Start w/ a sander to rough it out close.
- File/Sanding block to contour.
- Green scotch-brite to smooth/blend.

Go slow, 'cuz you can't put it back.

Takes me ~ an hour or so to get it just right.

don't get me wrong, I liked the G36. the grip is unfinished in my opinion and take a Pierce +1 to complete it since they don't make a flush fit magazine or wont extend the grip to enclose the magazine. the stock magazine base is ungainly and loos out of place. it doesn't even match the gun. but, since the grip is not what goes in the holster I went another direction.... I really wish glock would make the G36 with a completed grip.
For years, I didn't get a G36 because of the mag base arrangement.

Now? I don't think I'd change it.

The mag "knob" really aids in the tactical reload operation.

Easy to snatch and hang onto the unload mag, and No Way you will lose the forked reload mag during the process. Easy to dig out of a front pocket as well.

I also have a micro SIG P938 6+1 9mm, and tactical reloads w/ it are a little tricky. The G36 I can do in my sleep.

The part that goes into the holster is not the problem, unless you are using a thin suede IWB holster, and all the lumps-n-bumps the G19 has.

It's the big fat ass that's the issue.

This G36 even has a mag base/plug extension.

And that 3 oz. of weight difference? Is all in the handle, outside the holster and flopping around as well.

Won't mention the fat and heavy double-stack mags.

Ooops!
