Today, I ordered a Bar Sto .45ACP semi drop in barrel for my gen II Glock 21.
I wonder if anyone can tell me what kind of work might be required to get it to fit?
In the product description, Bar Sto says, "Most Semi-Drop-In barrels will drop-in without minor fitting." So, I've got my fingers crossed. One reviewer recommended the video, "MAKE GLOCKS ROCK" if fitting was required.
If it is similar to other Bar-Sto barrels I've seen, most of the fitting will be done on the barrel hood, that little tab that sticks-out at the top-rear of the chamber. It is usually slightly oversize, and you may have to fit the width of the hood to the width of the slide cut where it fits, and the length of the hood to allow the barrel and slide to lock closed (in that order, usually, and that length fitting may affect headspace). Not sure if there is anything else that might be needed; most of my experience with these barrels is 20+ years old and for use in other guns, so take that into account.

I'm hoping that they only intend for users to clean up the sides of the hood (at worst). The gun is "well broken in" and with a little luck, it 'might' drop in.

I know the bar sto barrel on my 1911 had the hood cut about a thousandth too long, with the intention of it being shortened by a gunsmith. It works great, but I couldn't have done a decent installation myself.
The Bar Sto barrel dropped right in. I racked the slide about a hundred times and could not feel it hanging up at all. So, I took it to the range today and put around thirty rounds through it with no problems. So, at least for me, the semi drop in barrel dropped "... in without minor fitting."
The accuracy at fifteen yards, seemed decent, but I put very few rounds down range in this particular gun today, so accuracy testing will have to wait for another day.
A few weeks back I fit a Bar Sto "drop in" barrel to a G22 for a friend that has a shop. The sides of the hood need very little material removed and the hood length was not much more. When the barrel was ascended, I had to polish the bottom lock up a bit also. It ended up with no movement in battery and his customer was pleased. Nice barrels.
Funny, but I forgot to update this post. Years ago, I dropped my stock barrel back into my Gen 2 Glock 21, and shot this group at fifteen yards. I left the stock barrel in after this:
